The end of the center section has been partly cut away. It's never going back to it's original state.This is what makes it so sad... the 'wings' on a '63-'65 II/IV are attached using a V-joint. I really don't know what the current Epi's are, but a V-joint is a much more sophisticated way of marrying the wings to the center-section. When I designed/made my Koa Ex-Factorbird fretless in the late '90s, I worked with a master woodworker friend to construct/replicate it as close to my '64 II specs as possible, which included the V-joints. So anyone wanting to return this butchered bass to its original state would have to be, or know a master woodworker to remedy it. I hate to see butchered vintage basses...
