That’s all very encouraging! Can’t wait until it gets here. If it’s a keeper I’ll probably sell my Epafini 212 cab which sounds great but I already have that sound covered with my Bergantino HT322.
Anybody looking for a potentially good deal on a very sweet mint condition high end cab?

Absolutely stunning! Beautiful upgrades very tastefully done. Just needs some purple silks to be perfect.🤩

I’ve used standard length EBCF strings on my short scale LP bass with no issues.

Looks like fun! Also looks like you’re running out of frets!

I like dark and deep. IIRC the B18 has a bit more power than the B15 so I’m hoping I can push it a bit harder before it farts out. But it’s just going to be a house rig so no serious volume requirements are truly called for.

Happy B’Day Mike! I’ve heard nothing but good about the Rumbles.
Thank you. Yes, they provide me with the tone I want w/o breaking my back or bank.

Funny, the spec calls for a 12AX7 and a 12AU7 in the pre, and the same in the power section. However mine came with 12AX7’s in V1 and V2 of the pre-amp. So even though the spec calls for a total of two 12AX7’s and two 12AU7’s, I had three 12AX7’s and one 12AU7.

This kinda bugs me since it is not how it was designed. I plan to put a 12AU7 in V2 of the pre, as it is called for and see if I still get what I need out of it.
Why not? Either way, you'll have a spare "valve".

I know where you are coming from on the watts. Mine is like Chuck's ABM 500 (575w), and is way more than I need. To push the (single) tube a little my Output is barely on. Move it a millimeter and it's too loud. Ideally I would have preferred the 300w version. Actually a 100w version (that they don't have) would be ideal for me. I admit that the extra 4 eq sliders do com in handy. Newer versions have 6 sliders.

I could eat 4 sliders; 6, IDK. :smug:

At the risk of being redundant-or repeating myself-I wouldn't have a P bass if it was given to me, except to sell it and buy something useful.
to buy something like (ignore SVT) this…….

P basses. Just like any other base, you guys are good ones in your bad ones. I'm not a p bass player but there are two that I would have cut off my right elbow for. And of course, they were radically different. One was a 61 with a Rosewood neck that had a super refined sound and pretty much played itself. The other was a featherweight 1969 with a maple board that snarled like a wildcat in heat! Edit, you've got your good ones and your bad ones. Damn thing don't speak Texan..

Excellent Irv! Looks to likely be from the initial run with the slab body. Adding a cut is child’s play for someone with your skill. hopefully the neck is sound. You’ll enjoy it; BaCH necks are nice.

Will you be painting it Blue?
I’m pretty sure it’s got a belly cut already.
Take a close look at the back of the body.

Pardon this brief detour, but [DETOUR/member-@°√÷÷§¥=whatever_Count Bassie] some of us here are also fans of the Epiphone Cassady Signature, Epiphone's rendition of the Les Paul Studio Signature.
I just wanted to say that after deciding to pull it back down off the *for sale* block, and sell it to myself (with a generous payment plan), I'm coming to really like this bass.
I need to invent a thumb rest for it, and I'm getting the concept, which I'll share when it's done. But the forward, gnarly, throaty growl of this bass is a really good feature that I'm believing can be brought into line with some judicious eq.
The Earthmen played a gig last Saturday and got it on vid... The pickup and impedance selector put this puppy right up front in the mix. Which is great! Because instead of trying to get it to cut through, I can tame it back a bit and actually put it where I want it in the sonic field. I love that. It'll take some playing time, but what a cool feature to have. I'm really liking it, it's fun to play too.
And it looks cool...[DETOUR/end]

Ok, now back to THUNDERBIRD content. 🙂
