The Dano/Coral/Silvertone I had looked like this one, only black and really ratty.

Double octave, short scale, absurdly narrow neck. You could flat fly on that neck. Funny thing is that I don't miss it at all.

Nobody would know if you are inserting them into that song. They cannot make any less sense than the original lyrics.

Before or after? Before you work on it, not much. After? Loud and anything from clean and pure to pencils jabbed through the speaker cones, depending on what knob you twist and how far.

With a six string guitar, it gets beyond loud.
