My band got to open for a band called Crusade the other night, the side band of some of Tenacious D's members, and they are fantastic. No bass live, but y'all should look them up if you have the chance.
I've been stockpiling bits and bobs for the VivaAnalog 360+ build, just waiting for a few more pieces to arrive, then I can get started. But getting back into DIY builds gave me a bug to experiment with my pedal board and try some new stuff out. So now I have materials and PCBs for a DOD FX10, Broughton Filter, Milkbox, 360 Fuzz, Univibe, Systech Overdrive and a few other pieces on the way, hell of a lot cheaper than buying all the pedals individually just so I can experiment (I may have been listening to too many of @PhR75 s demos). The parts for the DODs proved a bit hard to source, they were using some oddball W taper pots, and I only stumbled upon the FX10 and Broughton PCBs after a lot of digging. So I've got a lot of soldering in my future. The only pedals I'm looking at that I'm not building myself are a Fender Sublime (love that stupid big enclosure) and a Boss DC-2W. Bought UA's SDD-320 plugin a few weeks back and absolutely love what it does to my bass tracks, and now I need a pedal version.
And while I didn't get that Red NR that was on Jauce last week, it did motivate me to finish a project that has sadly languished since I moved to the Grecobackers: the BaCH II. Want to get that finally squared away before the end of the year, I miss that Gumby-ass bass. While I do have a spare lollar to pop in it, as well as possibly taking the bridge pup from the Epi VP or relocating the Greco II pickup to it, I think I'm going to try out the Serek B90 in a T-bird cover. I looked at the LZN-B90 as well, but like the idea of a beefy Single Coil in the NR, 760s in the White VP, and Greco pup in the II.
