Thunderbird Club

cool, never seen him with an NR..
He's credited on Wiki w/playng a Dano also and there's pics of him playing a Fender. Can you imagine a performance like this today? The late '60s was a very crazy time!

Don't know if I missed a discussion on this short scale Bird from the Mod Shop? Seems to have sold pretty fast.

My band got to open for a band called Crusade the other night, the side band of some of Tenacious D's members, and they are fantastic. No bass live, but y'all should look them up if you have the chance.

I've been stockpiling bits and bobs for the VivaAnalog 360+ build, just waiting for a few more pieces to arrive, then I can get started. But getting back into DIY builds gave me a bug to experiment with my pedal board and try some new stuff out. So now I have materials and PCBs for a DOD FX10, Broughton Filter, Milkbox, 360 Fuzz, Univibe, Systech Overdrive and a few other pieces on the way, hell of a lot cheaper than buying all the pedals individually just so I can experiment (I may have been listening to too many of @PhR75 s demos). The parts for the DODs proved a bit hard to source, they were using some oddball W taper pots, and I only stumbled upon the FX10 and Broughton PCBs after a lot of digging. So I've got a lot of soldering in my future. The only pedals I'm looking at that I'm not building myself are a Fender Sublime (love that stupid big enclosure) and a Boss DC-2W. Bought UA's SDD-320 plugin a few weeks back and absolutely love what it does to my bass tracks, and now I need a pedal version.

And while I didn't get that Red NR that was on Jauce last week, it did motivate me to finish a project that has sadly languished since I moved to the Grecobackers: the BaCH II. Want to get that finally squared away before the end of the year, I miss that Gumby-ass bass. While I do have a spare lollar to pop in it, as well as possibly taking the bridge pup from the Epi VP or relocating the Greco II pickup to it, I think I'm going to try out the Serek B90 in a T-bird cover. I looked at the LZN-B90 as well, but like the idea of a beefy Single Coil in the NR, 760s in the White VP, and Greco pup in the II.

from the fact that you have to roll the preamp tubes to properly seat them prior to applying pressure to insert them into the socket when the amplifier is functional and the chassis is typically in the cabinet….
Thanks. Never thought of it as rolling before.

That's pretty effing cool! Love the trapezoid blocks, the Pickup arrangement is like a Lull Tom Petersson Sig, the 2+2 headstock works as well!
I like it!

Sounds great! And I'm sorry. 😉

Hey, I'm just glad I don't have to shell out to try them all out! The cheapest FX10 I could find is $100, in original box, which is sweet, but I found a kit, enclosure included, for $50 shipped, with true bypass. Cheapest Milkbox is $134 shipped on Reverb, even sourcing the weird parts, it's still cheaper to build. And for how simple the Broughton is, I'm not going to shell out $165. Even found a PCB for the Ibanez STL with a switch to swap to ST-9 specs. I could have found the schematics and drawn them up if I wanted to go even cheaper, but that's pretty time consuming. Aion Effects has a Lab L4 and L5 preamp too, maybe one day I'll give that a go too!

Interesting concept. A drummer friend sent it wondering if it's viable. May not fit many people's needs, but it would certainly be something some might want. Heck, if you can make a classical guitar out of Lucite, why would this not be a good idea! There are downsides, but I think it's a clever idea. Possibly done before.

@Chucky Stiletti excuse the low volume. My iPhone sucks as much as my playing. 🤣

That sounded fantastic through my Bose speakers in my office (not so much on the Macbook Pro). But through real speakers....Wow! Big, but tight and punchy. Don't post any more clips. That could cause me to wondering which could lead to money loss.
