Similar here - no formal jazz education but plenty of jazz listening and jam-sessions ala late-'60s/'70s Miles with ex-Berklee musicians. We always refer to it as "fake jazz" but it goes pretty deep sometimes. TSC plays "Boogie, Stop, Shuffle" by Mingus and a couple of Pauls originals have jazz influences. Watermelon Man is fun-ky!
Ah, well the years are doing you no harm, your Grace! Happy birthday V! Encore!Happy Birthday @TBird1958 !!

Yep definitely one of my pickguards. Man that was a great deal whoever got it.Again @saltymonkey, thank you. I saw your post, clicked the link, read the description, and immediately hit buy now. I was surprised it was still available.
Sorry Dave @Stealth57, I did not see your question until after the fact. I was so excited I just had to get it. That is not the original Artec pickup. Who knows what it is. It could be anything, from a Chinabucker, a 760 Probucker, or something special. The seller probably doesn’t know. I can’t wait to find out!
That one is from the second run or later. The first run didn’t have a belly cut. It’s a bit on the heavier side. Mine, also Ebony, is about 8 1/2 pounds.
I wonder if it has one of Scott’s @godofthunder59 ’s pickguards? I have one of Scott’s PGs on mine with his hot-stamped Thunderbird logo.
It’s from AZ. I wonder if Andy @Nocturnal knows it?
My immediate thought, before I realized it wasn’t an Artec, was that it’ll get a Lollar. But after looking at the pics, I realize it has something else. In my dreams it’ll be a Lull, or a Thunderbucker Ranch.
I haven’t been this excited since George @GBassNorth sold me his BaCH II a couple years ago.
It’s nice to be back in the game after having some financial issues for about a year. I have three specific wants moving forward. There were some opportunities the last year that I couldn’t swing. I will be checking on those. Then I’m probably done. But never say never.
Which means happy birthday to you too Richard. Whatever day it is.Happy birthday V, fellow Virgo!
I thought as much. It should be here Thursday.Yep definitely one of my pickguards. Man that was a great deal whoever got it.
In the British Library. I need to come back when I have nearly unlimited time.
