It's pretty hard to come up with a different design that works both visually and functionally.I don't detest the looks of a D-roc, but it is certainly not a step in the right direction.
Installing a mud-bucker at the neck on a bass was a thing in the late '60-early '70s. The days of 18" speakers and big low-end.It is great that it turned out to be what it is. I hope you make a video once it is sorted. The mudbucker has me intrigued, and I am trying to imagine what it will be like with both pickups wide open.
I have nothing against NRs. I just don’t love them and they seem to feel the same. I love Rs as a rule, and most of them love me.I played the '21 NR yesterday and compared to the '64 Reverse last week, I prefer the Reverse. Just feels custom made for me. This is not to say I found the NR uncomfortable, just not as comfortable. For one, the reach is greater on (at least) the new NRs than the Reverses. I'm 6ft, so reach isn't a problem, but is noticeably different.
Was there a '74 T-bird? I thought '76 was the first RI year for the '63-'65 bird.

I still like that "coming from everywhere" effect. A mudbucker and a Thunderbird pickup might be the best of both worlds.Installing a mud-bucker at the neck on a bass was a thing in the late '60-early '70s. The days of 18" speakers and big low-end.
There's worse fates. Then when you turn 65, you get cheaper and better health insurance. What's not to like about getting a bit older?talk about becoming a child again…..turning 60 next month…,

that's what I thought - those pu's worth that? They're just mislabeled, no Birds in '74.
Early '60s T-bird neck pu's are dark on their own so with a mud-bucker it would be even darker/bassy-erI still like that "coming from everywhere" effect. A mudbucker and a Thunderbird pickup might be the best of both worlds.

Thanks - Im not interested in them but just wondered if they were worth that to someone. It's not too bad, but those pickups are their own thing, to me, you either love them or hate them. They're not at all like any other Thunderbird pickup at all.
Our health insurance seems to be going up as my age increasesThere's worse fates. Then when you turn 65, you get cheaper and better health insurance. What's not to like about getting a bit older?
