That would be awesome! This is another band I have been playing with called Highfield.

These are recordings from our practice space. Everything is pretty much first take and very lo-fi. I have been stumping for some real studio time since we have actually practiced and played live a bit since the recording were done.

Its a tough sell to a bunch of guys who love things "raw and spontaneous" ;)
Find a studio where you can record live. Or build one!
We record in my music room with headphones. The guitar amp is in an adjacent attic space covered with a moving blanket and bass is DI to interface. That way we can play live for the spontaneity, but punch in edits etc. No click track.

Bond girl had a nice show last night in downtown SF at a hip urban venue called Music City SF. https://musiccitysf.com/ First time I'd been there - a very impressive place! Relatively new, someone spent some big money on it. Performance-space/bar, lower floor hourly rehearsal spaces (very nice spaces w/backline - pic's on there site), a full kitchen, a small dining/hanging area and top-end FoH/stage/full backline/lighting. And bonus - air conditioned! Sat was in the 90s here - unusual for SF in general and especially rare this late in the year. Everyone joked that a rare night like this is when Eric Burton visited and wrote "...on a warm San Francisco night..." :)

Love not having to lug an amp - I played through a nice Quilter, but it was a little too modern sounding for my tastes. The performance space had high-ceilings but unfortunately no baffling (they need to address this) so it was an overly 'live' sound. The combination of the live space, the modern amp and my '66 J made it hard to find a sweet-spot between 'boomy' and 'nasaly/clangy'. Anyway - the management liked us so it sounds like we might get a monthly gig there. BG has made a decision to bypass janky bar-gigs from now on and concentrate on upper tier venues like this one and recording. We shared the night with friends or ours, both doing 90min sets. They are a basic cover-band but are good players and nice people. We've shared bills a number of times w/BG & TSC. Pics were taken so maybe I'll be able to post some later.

The brick-wall & window behind the stage now have full length floor to ceiling red curtains, ala Twin Peaks!

Went to Music-go-round yesterday and sold my Ampeg V-4B "Classic" (same as my V-4BH, just a little older). It was my backup but with the ABM and little RM-300 there was no need to keep it in my office. Made a little money from selling it, so I was very happy.

Played one of these for the first time. No amp, however. The thing I discovered is that it's been a long time since I picked up a 5er. I was hoping they would have a Fender MIM fretless. But nothing. And yes, I played the Epi Thunderbird. Been years since I picked one of those up. Very nice feeling.

I messed around some trying to get something from the VP that I liked through the SVT. Including jumping the two channels. No luck yet. It takes no effort to get the ‘13 to sound great through the SVT. And the Epi Blackbird too. I’ll take the VP home to the other house and play with it through the TT 800 and the Carbine. The latter has a built in voice setting that may work. We’ll see.
I would think the SVT would really help the lows. My V-4BH (same pre and voicing) does the trick. But my cab is full of lows as well. I have no clue ho Berg cabs are voiced.

oh wow, saw a guy playing one of (blue) those through a MB combo at the county fair yesterday…..was wondering what it was, sounded and looked great.

Bond Girls ex-lead player Andy played a Reverend. As far as their basses go, the Mike Watt signature "Watt-Plower" is one of their biggest sellers. It's gone through a few variations, road tested by Watt - this is the current iteration.
