Thunderbird Club

A sweet reptilian monster still doesn't sound good to me.
But if it brings baclava.....I can work up the requisite tolerance.
Or a main course with solidified grape extract for dessert.

Yikes! Hopefully there's not too much collateral damage.
not too bad, thx Irv, was driving slow, something wasn’t right…labor of love, just as I got the motor where I want it, the front suspension starts doing weird stuff….all bushings up front replaced BTW….oh well, look at the bright side, can’t blame Lucas this time….

Indeed. As my neighbor said who used to be on the city council (which is the whole county) says, if they do something it could be wrong, so they avoid doing and taking action if at all possible. The job for many is to keep their good paying job.
You might try contacting the state, if only to get the pertinent state law to cite. But it's possible they'd contact the city, too.

I need one of those. We live at the end of our road. There's not turnaround. The street just ends and is actually our drive. We offered to donate land for to the city for a proper cul-de-sac. They decided that that would be great if they could come way up into the front yard. In front of the house. I told him that's why we bought the extra property so there wouldn't be a road or traffic in front of and near the house. Just use the land we would donate over to the side which is plenty. In the city's astounding show of wisdom they turned free land down. We have tons of people come flying down the road to only jam on their brakes and try to figure out what to do. It's hilarious watching the number of people who can't turn a small car around. It's not funny how many drive in the yard in their attempts. Talked with city engineers about a sign saying there's no outlet (which many seem to think there is given the speed). Highly trained engineers said they can't put signs in our neighborhood because they are decorative and such signs need to be at the last possible location to turn around. I told them they put other signs on street light poles, just use one of those, and there are four possible locations after the one they did put up to turn around before people get to our property to turnaround. That was just too confounding for them and they couldn't find a thing to say. I also asked that since the city turned down our land offer, but the public use our property to turn around if they are going to help with the expense when time to pave, which caused additional dumbfounded silence. The drive is concrete but the first section on a rt angle is paved like the street and looks like the street is is not. Weird, but I won't waste more time explaining it.
Where’s the entrepreneur in your household? Buy a tow truck, a few dozen flat tire plug kits and a bag of nails. Throw the nails in the off road area, put up a sign for Donnie’s Towing and tire repair service and charge a hundred bucks a tire to fix the flats of the goofballs that turn around in your yard. Once city council sees that it’s a profitable business they’ll want to take over the operation.

Is that a common problem? I know cotter-pins can only take so much, but normally there isn't much force or friction on them. Was something else going on?

Good you were going slow!

I like it. Other than the work aspect!

I did line certain areas with some decent rocks to scare off getting in the grass or cause a reminder on their car that off-roading is best left to professionals.

Here is a good example of what happens prior to rocks. (Hopefully this link is secure and none of you take over my macbook.) It looks more finished now due to some drainage work I forced the sewer company to address.
For reference, our property begins about midway of that partial drive/backup/turnaround space all the way next to the house across the street to the very edge of our neighbor's drive on this side. It looks like the end of the street that just died out, but is actually ours (to maintain) not the street. The street does just end, but that's not my fault or problem. Us and the lady across the street already have from our properties provided that little backup spot.

Interesting. Looks like an easy fix is to trench a two foot deep by about three foot wide “drainage” ditch about a foot off the road. Anyone stupid enough to cut thru the lawns and not use the provided driveways or paved pull out to do a three point turn will learn the hard way. Just be sure to have plenty of towing company business cards on hand.

Our lamb is generally too fatty and not seasoned properly. It can be good, but one has to know how to prepare it properly.
We feed our Mona 'Primal Raw Nuggetts' organic lamb from Australia. (through Pet Smart) It comes in little bricks and she eats one as her 1st meal of the day. I've never tried it, but she likes it! 🐶

Front end weirdness must be a Triumph thing. I had to rebuild the whole front end of my TR-2 back when. You would have though they learned a few things by the time they built TR-6s, but who knows. They do things the English way.
