I’m always momentarily surprised when I hear from you guys that eating lamb isn’t common in the US.
Growing up here it was commonplace, though probably less in the last decade since the price has skyrocketed. It used to be a cheap ish staple. I guess chicken has taken that slot now.
We have a lot of sheep here, about 75million. I remember hearing we were outnumbered 3:1 by sheep anyhoo.
Last time I had lamb was yesterday. Caught up with my sisters for lunch, I had a slightly confused (multicultural) lunch.
Lamb souvlaki: 3 lamb skewers, bread ( seemed more Lebanese than pita) hummus, and fatoush salad (Lebanese). I had it with an Irish Guinness.
