Thunderbird Club

View attachment 7057612I’ve played a lot with that old red Thunderbird clone from Japan. Some people said it was a Gallan, some people say other things. It served me few years but suddenly it stoped to work.View attachment 7057613
Soon I’ve found that it would be cheaper to switch to another instrument than fix that red one (truss rod, frets). So I’ve got an Epiphone which I love and hate.
What do you hate about the Epiphone?

Just got back from Mexico, had a wonderful stay and spent a lot of time with good friends and family. Needless to say, I’m way behind on the TB threads with no intention of going back to catch up. I suspect I missed some of the standard chatter about cars, food, travel and…. oh yeah, Thunderbirds.

Just to start the day off right and on topic here’s a Single Saturday shot…

…post em if ya got em (or had em).
Miles started a wiki of companies that produced Thunderbirds. Take a look and maybe contribute. The Greco category could benefit from your input.

Great shots, love to know anything about the red Bird clone, and let me know if you'd like a club number :)

For the Queen..now that you are a raw oyster pro.
It’s a Southern Maryland tradition.
Cheers!

The list looks pretty inclusive. It could possibly also include…
Dingwall (DBird and DRoc) fanned fret multi scale bass
IMG_1661.jpeg

Samick mini Tbird 30” scale reverse Tbird (made in the 1980’s)

Savannah NR Thunderbird Bass Ukulele

IMG_3081.jpeg

Acasia NR fanned fret multi scale bass (so far only a couple made, so very low production numbers and a very stylized shape)
IMG_1934.jpeg

Then there’s always the ultra rare North birds (BlingBird, 66Tribute NR, and the ThunderCaster) but they aren’t really production models so I don’t know that I’d include them, but there are a couple more in the planning stages.

Clearly you missed the post that we all only play Fenders now.

Glad you had a good trip.

Let’s do this:

oh, wait, we already did…

Nice outdoor gig on a pleasant evening at the Old Princeton Landing. Good crowd (not that you can see any), and really good bands. Red Voodoo from Sacramento opened (these kids are likely to go somewhere, super tight retro pop/hard rock, industry connections, ala Sammy Hagar I heard), and State Line Empire as the featured headline act.

I’m sorry.
What do you love and hate about the Epi?
