Thunderbird Club

Some great music last night, seeing a friend's band. One band's bass was the Fender with mudbucker. The last band was really good. Just this girl on bass and vocals, and a drummer. She was incredibly talented. And this Kramer aluminum neck bass was going through two amps, a Sunn Concert Bass through a 215 and an Orange Terror Bass through a 410. The sound was massive.

Nice!!! My daughter was asking me about Mike Kerr's (Royal Blood) set up. She's going to be jamming with a drummer.

Massive may be an understatement!
Two rigs, (15’s mic’d plus two 410’s and dual amps) on what looks like an indoor night club size stage and venue. Would have loved to have been in that audience, I’d bet you could feel every note from anywhere in the room.
What’s the name of the band?

Yes. I'd imagine they could feel it over in NJ.

I get a quiet day today with just some prep, we head out to Sequim tomorrow for our Halloween show Saturday It's a great place to play, huge stage,
first class FOH, lights and sound man. Meantime, love you guys!

Sounds great - I love attending a good jazz performance. Last I saw/head in SF was Marcus Miller at the SF Jazz Center. A stellar show of a great musician/player at a great modern (recently completed) SF venue in the heart of the city.

I took the white Bird to practice 2 weeks ago, and commented on the low D-G output. Was out doing this last week (mine in center with tall flags):

Had practice last night (for Halloween party), got there early to adjust PUPs, bass side down 1/2 turn, treble side up 1 full turn, and found the magic. The band even commented on it. There's something magical going on that my bolt on Tbirds don't have, not even the Lull T5 I had. I think the neck through is the reason, the notes don't punch like a bolt on, but they bloom/blossom. Very special and addictive. Now I'm going to be worried about changing even the stock strings (according to Kara), I don't want to change a thing!

Totally remember Yoshi's in the old location in Oakland - saw many shows there. Seen many in the current location also. Did you ever go Kimball's East in Emeryville? (early '90s) back when KJAZZ was still on the FM dial.
