Hell yes Geo! I'm a huge Martin Denny fan. I have somewhere around 15 different LPs. As a longtime crate digger they were so cheap when I first discovered him. I don't think I paid more than $5 or $6 for any of them, some still sealed. The one you posted, Exotica, was the first one I picked up. So good! I saw that Exotica and some other of his popular titles have been rereleased in the past year.

Good evening Thunderbird loving sisters and brothers. I hope all are enjoying a relaxing long weekend. Crazy busy week with auditors in my office. Worst part was they didn't finish and will continue for the next week or so remotely.
Played at the Fall Folk Festival this afternoon at a local community College auditorium. Great event celebrating music and cultures from around the world. Played a Saturday ago at a club downtown that we have played a few times in recent months. As fate would have it, at both gigs, I haven't been able to hear myself. Very disorienting. At the bar, I was between a large PA speaker on a table and the drummer. Today at the auditorium, all the sound gear was supplied. Our sound check ran long, and I was last to go. Horrible buzz at first (ground lift?), but got it addressed. I was in my monitor until about the entire minute of our set. Seemed awkward, but after the first song walked over to a mic and asked for more bass guitar and got it for a minute or so. Learned later they turned it up in the house. I don't know if it was an issue with a DI, or what, but very disorienting. Rant over.
Wondering if anyone has any experience with the Gene Simmons Thunderbird. I have heard they have a chunkier neck. I am no particular fan of Gene, but love Thunderbirds and sometimes chunky necks.
Thank you to any of our members who are or have served in our nation's military. I hope everyone gets an extra day in their weekend.

Depending on the bass/year/factory - the Epi Goth T-bird can have a chunky neck. But some have shallow necks - you'll need to ask for slide-rule measurements based on your preference. They are not a 'Gene Simmons" - but they are decent T-bird basses.

Me too. I get back from my cruise Saturday sometime. In a fog bank off Santa Barbara currently.

P.S. the audio engineer onboard has the bass set perfectly for all the bands. What a surprise.

Yeah, my Goth neck is wider but not deep/chunky. “Slim Taper” I think they call it.

Hey Border! That can be frustrating. You using the term disorientation is ideal. Never heard it used in that way, but that accurately describes that situation very well. The few times I've run into that it sucked most of the joy out of playing as the mind seems fixated on a problem that we can't resolve.
