You are correct!! I checked to be sure. I will use thinner triangular picks at times but prefer the heavier versions for some reason.

Squire was recovering from a bad acid trip, living in his girlfriend's flat. He got his bass and dove into it, in large part to walk his way out of the deep woods he'd got himself into. He was driven and committed, and gave himself to it.

About picks: I hate them. They feel so unnatural for me, but when I use one it's a Gibson Heavy one. Black teardrop shape.
I'm pretty much a 50/50 split between pick and fingers. I'm better with my fingers though. I use anything from .77 to 1.14 and switch brands often. Currently I'm on the Dunlops that look like the old Herco (Hurco?) picks that I'm having trouble finding locally. I try to play what I'm covering as it was played and more pick playing has been creeping in.
Fingers. Picks are a lark, but I think a good idea sometimes. It feels interesting to play with one, but after a while I'm not in there anymore. So, fingers.

Snarling Dog brain picks (.60 mm). They are textured to make them easier to hold onto and come in a cool little tin. I have experimented with .73 mm but keep coming back to above.
I wanted to buy XH picks in the Gibson tin but they only had tins of M picks. So ... they tipped the Ms out and gave me the tin for nowt with a bag of 72 XH. 72 + tin was less than 50 *in* the tin. It's cool when people do nice things they really don't have to do, just for the hell of it.
Sometimes doing something nice for someone is good for you. You gave them the opportunity. Nice!
Well, it's probably due to the fact he hung himself, that's pretty clearly suicide. He probably was showing the typical signs that go along with that.
F'n breaks my heart. As someone with mild depression, who has certainly seen his share of black days, it so makes me wish these people could see just one more day, because things can change that fast.
The reports were that he was lying on the floor with a band around his neck. I get it that these folks who investigate this type thing know what they're looking at but I wonder if they'll look at surveillance tape to make sure that Chris went to his room alone. I sure hope so and that no one freaked out and left him laying there after some "kinkyness" had occurred. More details would help but it looks like the authorities made it tidy with a quick call of suicide, IMO.

Guitar picks are too thin, for me. I need picks to be at least 1mm.
Most of the time I use the light purple Dunlop 1.5mm ones. Used to use 2mm.
I think there might be several. Mine are purple and they're 1.5mm
That's why I use such thick picks.
Also because floppy picks feel uncontrolled to me, and it's easier to tremelo pick with thicker ones.
Welcome to our merry band, Mr. 40hz. You'll have mucho fun here. I too have the 2015 model. It is my only T-bird and I have never played other TB pickups to compare. But I agree about with you about the tone of these pups being pretty stout. I don't fiddle much with the coil tapping but it is a nice option.
First responders found him on the floor, but a friend went in to check on him first.
Pure speculation, but I'm guessing his friend pulled him down, probably in a panic. Cuz that's what I'd do. Or maybe the strap or curtain rod or whatever broke after carrying the weight for a time
But yeah, they'd be pretty versed in the medical/forensic differences between suicide hangings and stranglings.
It's Detroit, they probably see 20 a day of each.
Yellow tortex for me, .73 , actually when I play guitar I use Dunlop jazz III, thick small and pointy. For bass I want that bit of flexibility because I pick hard and the .73 seems to just go through the string and not be too floppy. I'm sure I would break strings every gig with the big thick picks, and I have much more control on guitar with the thick jazz III picks, and the .73 is too floppy for me. It is a different instrument and use a different Approach.
I am a finger player, hard digger influenced by Geddy Lee, but I do not shoehorn his style into everything. I'm doing shavo, he uses a pick. Back in the day I was anti pick, but a studio session with Greg Hetson in 2005 convinced me to use pick more, but I was "allowed" to use my fingers on most of the songs I played with fingers. This was a compliment as him and Steve Kravac who were producing our record, said they rarely let bass players use fingers on ANY songs because of inconsistent attack issues, that I did not have but most bass players did (shameless boasting).
But fact is, some styles just sound better with a pick, and this was a punk record. I can do more string jumping and intricate stuff with fingers, but oftentimes the sound demands a pick.
Play.for.the song and style. My bird band is a tribute, and pick is required 90% of the time. My last original band I was 99% fingers with 1% thumb slap, 0% Thunderbird (7ender and peavey).
I'm still looking for a replacement band to rock the peaveys in.
