I didn't know either. Wilco yes, members other than Jeff Twiggy(sp?) not so much.
I knew the name Wilco, but wouldn't know one of their songs I don't think. I know of Jeff T. because of his work with Mavis Staples.didn't know about Wilco till recently.....
My favorite guitarist. Multiple projects. Most famous is Wilco with this amazing guitar. CRANK IT!
Well, playing at church one has some limitations. And here I thought it was for emphasis and excitement.
Could not agree more. I will say I have seen him via TV/Youtube a number of times live, and he is always great. Not only that, he is very kind and helpful to younger/newer players. Seems to really be a class act. Comes off as a regular guy (a good bloke), you would love to spend time with. No quirkiness for it's own sake or to draw attention.Derek & the Dominos is the only EC album post-Cream I was passionate about.
Birthday Wishes to JIO! (And hope you and Beth are feeling much better.)
Well said.I dearly loved Cream and DatD; I think when Clapton was among equals he was great. But when it was all on him, I was mostly underwhelmed - especially compared to that early work.
I highly recommend TWEEDY’s book ‘Let’s Go (So We Can Get Back).’ Good insight into conquering one’s daemons.I didn't know either. Wilco yes, members other than Jeff Twiggy(sp?) not so much.
So cool. Tupelo was great. Two great bands rose out of that sad breakup.I know the wilco guys. We toured with Uncle Tupelo in the early days, even played their last official show before the breakup and birth of wilco and sun volt. The drummer, glenn went to UK here in lexington, we used to jam before he joined the band. anyhoo, cool to see them mentioned here...

I met John back in late 80's, we would stay at his house in Oxford when we played there. Him and his sister were in a band, The Hi Tops waaaaaay before his joining the Tupelo guys. Floods of memories from those awesome days long gone, lolI highly recommend TWEEDY’s book ‘Let’s Go (So We Can Get Back).’ Good insight into conquering one’s daemons.
Wilco Bassist John Stirratt is great. And Nels Cline is my favorite guitarist.

have you decided on finish, pup and strings?
Fun gig last night....
I really like the reissue in my BaCH II, the first one I picked up. My second BaCH II has the LP in it that Andy installed when he owned it. They’re different. Both are great. You never know for sure how a neck will react until it actually has string tension on it, especially this one as I had to reshape the fingerboard. It came out nice!
I was noodling around acoustically yesterday. With that easy access to the upper frets, it will be great for DJB.
I'm going to put it all together and try a few pickups and strings. Probably a Gibson reissue or Probucker 760.
Finish will be a nitro colour, with induced checking. I'll need to set a "spray booth" - I've got 3-4 other basses to finish with colours!
Having just recently installed both Eppi 760proBuckers and Gibson Reissues in a couple of different birds, I’d recommend the Gibby pups over the Eppi pups. There’s just a lot more heft and content to the Gibson reissues. Placed in the Greco tb locations (and adjusted for scale difference) they would be stellar. You never know for sure how a neck will react until it actually has string tension on it, especially this one as I had to reshape the fingerboard. 760s are for available quite cheaply now. I think they are Chinabuckers.Having just recently installed both Eppi 760proBuckers and Gibson Reissues in a couple of different birds, I’d recommend the Gibby pups over the Eppi pups. To be honest, I’m running ProBuckers back to back with ChinaBuckers on two different Tbirds with identical strings and there’s just not a lot of difference between the two, especially considering the price difference. So if I were spending money on new pickups I’d probably go the Gibby pups first, the ChinaBuckers second and the 760ProBuckers last.
