You never know for sure how a neck will react until it actually has string tension on it, especially this one as I had to reshape the fingerboard. It came out nice!
I was noodling around acoustically yesterday. With that easy access to the upper frets, it will be great for DJB.
I'm going to put it all together and try a few pickups and strings. Probably a Gibson reissue or Probucker 760.

Finish will be a nitro colour, with induced checking. I'll need to set a "spray booth" - I've got 3-4 other basses to finish with colours!

760s are for available quite cheaply now. I think they are Chinabuckers.
I'm going to swap the Orville stock pickups back in to my Orville to compare to the Gibsons, but I might just order a Gibson RI from L&M before there's another price increase due to the tanking Canadian dollar.

Frankly @$129 US, they are probably the best value available now.

New year’s dinner. Small prime rib that is resting, buttered carrots almost done, and baked Yukon Golds pretty much ready. Not shown is mixed greens salad and of course King's Hawaiian sweet rolls.

I absolutely love Sidewinders.
I’ve seen them go for more than 600 for a pair.

I agree. And I love green. Just not a drab version. Obviously plenty of people do or Gibson wouldn't be.....
