I wonder why 250k pots vs. 500k pots which is how its usually done? Wouldn't that reduce high end & clarity?

In general, yes. Which pots to use depend on the pickups and your Sonic goals.

(No hedgehogs were harmed in the making of this comment.)

My own experience was that with the 250K pots in my Orville it was utterly lifeless, I was a little cautious about the rewire but it was actually not difficult.
The difference in the sound was night and day.

Apparently the FD is pushing abandoned cars off the road to get to the fires

A buddy of mine lives in Topanga. Haven't heard how his house is, but I know he managed to evacuate safely and get his Fairchild compressors out with him.

Could be 1,000,000 mls as I'm looking at the snow and ice--and single digit temps coming this way.
Latitude's only 3 degrees off, pretty crazy....

Whoa! I would be worried about warbly/chorusy overtones with that much magnetic pull on the strings. I've done quite a few 3-pickup experiments with basses and encountered that issue a couple of times, where I had to swap one pickup out for something with less pull, to fix the issue. Also, my 3-pickup Godin Shifter bass suffered from that issue. I've never tried 4 pickups, but can only imagine that EVEN MORE pull would result in the issue being present and exaggerated, which would be disappointing to come across after spending $4k!
I’m happy this configuration doesn’t do any of the chorus effect what so ever.

Sweet! Yes, like I mentioned, I have a thing for the 3 pickup concept and I've got 2 basses that currently have 3 pickups (one of them a short scale thunderbird) without magnetic pull overtone issues. I've had several others, in a few of which I had to just swap one pickup for another to get rid of the warble. In fact, in terms of battling excess magnetic pull, you've got the best 3 pickup set up, because there isn't one in the far neck position. Way up there, the string is looser, travels farther, and is most effected by magnetic pull.

Yep, no question. Any known actual cause for this yet, other than dry air, wind and fuel making is worse? More importantly is this close to you or anyone here? Your place is farther North, correct?
