Well I think it's a really cool place, but for me it had really special meaning having known the movie since the '70s. Not sure I'd have gone so far out of my way just for that if not.

Came out summer after my high school senior year. A great drive-in movie. Who can forget Farrah?

One Christmas break in college I crashed in a friend’s friend’s dorm room a few days while they were out. There were only a handful of albums there and only two I liked - this one and Fragile (Yes). I played them pretty much non-stop when I was in the room. I still love both of them.

It is now, not certain that it was when I was there about 5 years ago. It was reasonably nice, and close to the trade show I was attending. The humidity was obscene for the entire time I was there - Too flat too!

That’s the ticket. Two angled Js at the bridge with a solid preamp to boost the bass back up to where it should be. Would be awesome! Love the sound of my Thumb B05. If I can get close to that with a Tbird body I’ll be in heaven. Consider it done, the build will progress shortly. Stay tuned.

@Chucky Stiletti this might end up being a stellar slap bass design as well. Crisp clear attack, bark, bite, snarl and growl - dial in or out as much bottom as you want, no pickups in the way of your right hand, throw in a familiar Fender Jazz maple neck and fret board to keep it crisp, clear and fast. You’ll get the first slap test once it’s done, probably in about 3 months.

Congrats. As close to a vintage Thunderbird in tone as you can get (without spending way more $$$.) By the way, they can sound fantastic with flats. Just a thought.

It’s not a Gibson, but it’s mine and I’ve wanted one for quite a while. Got it in a trade from a guy a guy who bought it new and didn’t really like it. I even got to peel the plastic wrap off the pickups and other plastic. Strung with Ernie Ball flats and it’s just killer with those!

Replying to my own thread to probably ask an obscene question(s):

I haven’t looked at any schematics or even looked inside yet, but are these only wired series? Is it possible to wire them with a series/parallel switch per pickup?

Cobalts really sound good on those. I have one with GHS Precision flats.
