Does anyone make a real mudbucker for standalone sale these days?

I have an Artec. It’s 28K DCR with wider pole piece spacing. I need to install in something!
I cleaned up my practice amp. Reseated the tubes and got all the dust off it.

That looks nice! I have one of those. I use mine with the PF115LF cabinet. Mostly used for tracking with direct and a mic.
I have its little brother, the PF20T I use in my living room with the PF112HLF. I really like them both!
Now I feel the need to clean mine.

Sam Yaffa playing a natural '76 T-Bird. I'm not sure how many of those were imported here back then but I think not many so it could be the one I used to own too (and my friend nearby owns now). Anyway, great sound and is it too loud? Naah...
And some 12-string "bird" action (at least in the pickup section). I only noticed recently that the pickup height on it is very low, much lower than on my 'birds and Telebirds. Works well 'though.

I would expect a 60's reissue long before a Bicentennial with Sidewinders. I'm honestly bemused that decades after the poor reception by bassists that the Sidewinders are now revered, very few had nice things to say upon thier release.
I wouldn't expect a Thunderbird reissue anytime soon Gibson has made it plain that they are focusing on Guitars. I'm frankly surprised that the Nonreverse is still available, I'm just hoping for a big headstock and a tune O matic bridge.

I personally love the Sidewinder.I would expect a 60's reissue long before a Bicentennial with Sidewinder. I'm honestly bemused that decades after the poor reception by bassists that the Sidewinders are now reverend, very few had nice things to say upon thirr release.
I wouldn't expect a Thunderbird reissue anytime soon Gibson has made it plain that they are focusing on Guitars. I'm frankly surprised that the Nonreverse is still available, I'm just hoping for a big headstock and a tune O matic bridge.

And many folks do! I was just trying to point out that on thier introduction they were not well received. I was working at The House of Guitars in '76 and bought one of the first ones to come in ( the bridge pickup was microphonic and squeled like a stuck pig) The neck pickup was weak and thin sounding, the bass sounded like a knock off Jazz bass more than a Thunderbird. Not everyone was as excited as I was and for the most part they sat or if sold they were traded back relatively quickly. The following year '77 I bought my first Nonreverse and I was home
. It wasn't till much later that Bicentennials with thier Sidewinders gained wider acceptance. I think in part there is a corelation to the rise in popularity of the Jazz bass and a more defined tone in popular music. Just my 2 cents of course. No right or wrong answer and I realize my opinion is colored by my abject disappointment in my first Thunderbird purchase way back in '76.

Correct me if I'm wrong but weren't the sidewinder pickups very different regarding their respective ohm readings? Because of the series wiring (when both pickups are full on). I can't recall if the neck pickup was weak in my '76 but I remember that both-on was louder than either pickup soloed which is natural with the series wiring.
I don't care what the reason. I don't like it.
Last I heard they may release one this year, but they won't be cheap. I don't know what the hold up is, the prototype was seen and played almost two years ago. I was told it seemed like they did it right by the person who played it. Why the waiting is beyond me. my semi 60s spec mudbucker powered hippie refin Precision build.
