I'm guessing that the profit margin on Les Pauls is higher than the profit margin on Thunderbirds. They can sell all the Les Pauls they can make and have only so much factory capacity. So, they make Les Pauls.

I'm getting pretty worried about water. We are two inches behind for January already. The last thing I want to see is fires on this side of the mountains.

I would agree that Gibson had issues with the pickups in terms of QC, of my two the purple one is about as good as a '76 gets, the green one is okay, not great, not as good as the purple in terms of tone. The green one has had three different '76 pickups (plus a Bartolini) in the bridge position - ugh!
I also think '76s are going to sound very different thru various rigs, mine were good thru the old GK Rig, but I need to spend some time with them and the Trace Elliott because they're a bit underwhelming right now. It's surprising to see where prices on these have gone as well, mine were about 1K ea, tho neither were in great shape.

Still, lotsa love for the '76s!

I wouldn't kick a Bicentennial out of bed 😉 but they ain't my first choice. My ebony '76 with SD custom shop 60s spec pickups.

What part of this don't you understand is just wrong? And I"m not talking about the smuggling part.

I make a motion that:
"Henceforth, anyone mentioning Baklava must do so only if they have the means to provide said Baklava to club members and shall do so without delay. Failure to fulfill this obligation will result in the forfeiture of one Thunderbird for each and every offense."

Marshall can legalese this to make sound better if seconded and approved.

You are doubtless right. But bass players are people too.

Got me to thinking, G&L seems to make almost as many basses (styles) as they do guitars.

Don’t involve me. He lets me visit and drink tasty home brew. One of these days I’ll luck out out and visit when he has the pastry goodies.

I wqouldn't mind a couple days if we got real snow, but this is several days of freezing nights (and today's dicey on getting above) with a chance of a smidge of snow after midnight tonight.
