just got this '23 to (replace the Suburban) with under 30k miles and am already replacing the motor (under full Chevy warranty) for a well known lifter problem......one never knows these days.....

Looks great! Vehicles are so complicated and pushed/regulated to get MPGs down that every manufacturer has issues, just some more than others, especially where smaller engines are now asked to get more HP and torque. Even Toyota who likely has one of if not the best maintenance records had big problems with many of their recent Tundra engines. Issues are certainly not new to any, but now days they are often well over a grand to fix.

Hey guys!

Just got my first Tbird! It’s a Greco Thunderbird. The sound is excellent!

I’m looking to return it to stock wiring and replace the tuners to its original status. Does anyone know what size tuners these Greco’s take or maybe have a recommendation on a wiring harness?

Also, does anyone know where to get a replacement Greco TRC? The gold foil has rubbed off mine and would love to have a more prominent TRC.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

And you are going to play it through an ACC stack. Outstanding! one of those cabinets looks like it could be a 408. I had a 320/408 stack and miss it. The 360s make me miss it a little less, but that's an outstanding amp if my eyes aren't deceiving me. It's the one that is mostly off to the right of the picture. I'm guessing the other cabinet is a 406, but I don't remember all the models any more.

Scoff… we get the “full fat” versions.

The Chevs are 6.2 with 10 speed auto, and the 2500 HD is 6.6 Duramax Diesel and 10 speed auto. No 3500’s at the moment but we had a small batch of them a few years ago.

Considering what things cost these days, if my little van ever reaches the end of its road, I'll look for a 1940s or 1950s panel truck to replace it with. The care and feeding of one of those couldn't possibly approach the absurd prices of new trucks and vans. Not that I ever buy anything new.

I watched a Young Sheldon episode last night after dinner and I heard a riff in the soundtrack and was about to sing the starting words when it was cut off. I said “hey that was The Easybeats”. Googled it and yep, S6 Ep14 has a piece of “Sorry” by the Easys in it.

I was surprised but pleased to hear it.

I hope they played enough so it generated a dollar to the band or their estate. Don’t know how it works on TV shows.

Yup! You are correct. Both my 406 & 408 cabinets are loaded with JBL E140s. I have a 320 and 370 heads I use to power them.

Ours are so expensive because they are effectively “built twice”.
They are built in the original factory completely and sent here to the contracted rebuilders who pull them apart, throw some stuff away, build new dashboards, wiring looms etc etc and reassemble them in RHD and to meet our regs (amber blinkers etc).
You’d think there would be a more efficient way to do it but we now have Ram, Silverado, F150 all going through this as well as the most recent US expat the Toyota Tundra.
GMC Yukon is about to join the Silverado and Corvette in the GM Special Vehicles dealerships. Only the Corvette is built RHD for us in the US (yay Kentucky?) and nothing affordable (to me anyway) are in the GMSV showrooms.

…and had to make it my own:

Put a Gibson Thunderbird re-issue in it, got a replacement pickguard and added a thumb rest. The original PG, pickup, pots, etc are all packed away, and the thumb rest screw that looks like it goes into the body is a dummy, and the one in the middle is exactly where the pickguard screw hole is. This Gibson can easily be put back to bone stock without any damage showing and only one hole under the stock pickguard.

I purchased two other basses recently as well, a 1988 MIJ Fender MEDIUM SCALE Precision Bass and a 2010(?) MIJ Fender MEDIUM SCALE Jazz Bass. I don’t have the Jazz yet as it is my first purchase from a Japan eBay listing (I’m worried, and anxious for it to arrive).

This is one of those times where all the money spent has been replaced (-$393) by selling three other basses, two I was fine with selling, one I sold reluctantly.
