I don't remember the first "real" bass line I learned. I remember spending a lot of time figuring out the solos on My Generation. There was no such thing as tabs back then, so I wore out a record and probably drove my roommates to drinking.

First bass line, who knows. I was in a piano, drums, bass trio playing background music for cocktail hour at the O Club*. Mostly just 1's and 5's. First more intricate line would've been "Girl From Ipanema"-I think.

A good year for VPs! That's exactly the deal I was looking for when @FlyingPigSound made me a great offer on a 2019 burst. Since used white VPs were in short supply, I bought the burst. A bird in the hand and all that.
Now I need a good deal on a purple metalflake... If I like it as much as the VP, I'll swap the mudbuckers into that and sell the VP.

I was cool when mine chose me decades ago. I have to be careful now and not leave the case open or the Thunderbird tries sneaking out the door.

I'd love to have one of his LP Double-cut style basses. Not in the financial cards at the moment, unfortunately.
