Last night I got to meet @Butcherboy and his wife.
2 of the most beautiful and sincere people I’ve met in a long time.
They welcomed Anja and I with open arms.
I was gifted this Gibson book.
And was introduced to some awesome basses.
But it was the people that made last night special.

It certainly should not be. I had some great teachers. Unfortunately, what made them great are things that would never fly in today’s environment.

Yep. Lot's of problems and I feel sorry for good teachers trying hard in often misguided school systems. Not to mention many kids know if they do wrong, the parent will be at the teachers door siding with the misbehaving kid and giving it to the teacher for wrongly picking on their sinless child.
"Parents" often don't seem to grasp that raising a child should end in a mature adult--often unlike themselves. Therein lies much of the problem.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought that. I was just ashamed to mention it. Some kind of Rorschach test or something. We likely all need a little help.

That's a hard cover version of "The Book" cherish it!
That the nice people in this club find a way to meet each other in the flesh all over the world never ceases to amaze me, it's something very special, very touching.
All because we love these basses so much.

Just a little? Donnie, you really need to come to a GTG and reset your expectations of the mental stability of this group.

Schools still teaching to the lowest denominator? In Junior High, my report card was A8. A for academic work and 8 for behavior. No, an 8 was as low as you could go. Maybe they should have rethought how and what they were teaching.

Yeah, when I had teachers who cared and understood how to teach a diverse class, I thrived. When I had teachers who only taught rote memorization or couldn't deal with advanced and slow students, I inevitably ended up in trouble a lot. Very low deportment grades under those teachers.
