I soooo regret selling my '74 Rick 4001.

Love my Greco, but I sure miss that old black 4001.

Do typical aftermarket Thunderbird pickups and rings fit in a 70’s - ‘90’s Greco TB? I know the stock ones are supposed to be good, but the black hardware is not my fave, thinking I could swap the covers to nickel and use typical nickel rings from Philadelphia Luthier.

Here's a Greco pickup out of the bass, the rings are likely not a problem, the covers on the other hand.....

Oh man! That looks so much like my '74, you're killin'me! I played mine so much that I wore the finish off the back of the neck and had to have it refretted.
Roto Sounds were brutal on those soft frets. What a beauty!

It currently has Roto flats on it, all the clank without all the chew on the frets.

To each their own. My ‘15 is the most playable bass I own. The neck is perfect. It’s light. The pickups sound great through the Mesas. I haven’t really matched it with the SVT more than a few times; I don’t like taking it up to the other place a lot and there is no way I'll leave it there alone.

No arguments from me about the '15. I just like the Flamingo and '01 better. I don't remember if the '15 came out to play when you were down in the basement or not.

Everyone who has ever had a Ric seems to have the same thing going on. I had one. Two of them, actually. Both are gone. I now have a Rickenfaker from the lawsuit era. It's got a single trussrod and a few other minor details that let you know it's not a Ric. The neck is enormous, which I don't mind at all. Funny thing is that I like it better than either Ric I had.

Well, in that case, here’s about the lowest price of entry into the Greco Tbird club I’ve seen in a long time (under $700 including shipping). Plus it’s a very rare (love it or hate it look) reversed reverse Non non reverse at about the same price as an Eppi VP (which it will run circles around sound wise).

Well, I'm talking with a guy about the 60s NR IV. Something I've always wanted. It's something of a project and I'm trying to figure out if it's going to get over my head. Seems some goof had it--and it shows. (Not him. Some previous owner.) I don't mind doing some things and spending some money on it, but I'm not looking to spend thousands to get it decent and playable. The story is developing!

Mine is exactly the same as yours. I kinda wonder if that's a personal failing. But, a Lull is my holy grail for the time being. Also for the time being, I'm pretty happy with the Flamingo and pixie dust 2001. Marshall will be unimpressed, but I hardly play the '15 these days.

I would love a Lull, but don't see it happening.
