I have this and it fits my 2017 Epiphone VP. It’s not the heaviest padded gig bag, but the big ole” headstock fits in there.

I have this thing (Rockbag)I got from Dean guitars. Fits one of their oddball creations. More than enuff room for my 67 NR.

Except for this, every gig bag I looked at was ~1 1/2" too short.

I brought it to rehearsal today. Thing sounds great. The model I have gets routinely panned by guitar players, but if it sounds good, it is good.

I fully support this, Roger. I've gotten some incredible tones from my Thunderbird through guitar heads. In my case it was an Orange. But at our practice space, there's at least one JCM800 and a JCM900. I should try one out.

Do it! Mines a budget, Korean made model with a cd input. But it's undeniable, little booger rocks like you read about... I love the sound I'm getting.
Dusty Hill used a mess of 100-watt Marshall amps.

Are there any gig bags that fit a Thunderbird? I know there are hard cases, but for how I play out of the house and what I carry I’d rather be able to put it on my back.

Which model Thunderbird? I know what you're talking about. I practice once a week and gig fairly often around NYC and the hardshell case is a joke on public transportation. My 2013 Gibson fits fine in Gator's Icon and ProGo bags, if you take out the removable bottom cushion. I prefer the pockets in the ProGo, but the Icon fits a little better. And they're both incredibly protective. Mine has gotten smacked hard into overhangs, and people, more times than I can remember, and neither the case nor the bass is any worse for the wear.

I have one that works great but there’s no name or logo, just a tiny “made in India” tag. It came with a bird I bought used.

You’ll need 52” internal space. Not sure anyone has found one that size. Even in hard cases only the Epi triangular case works.

The Gator Thunderbird case takes my VP with about an inch to spare at the headstock.

How old is yours? I bought mine a year or two ago. Maybe they upped the dimensions after the VP came out?

I would use mine at shows more often if it had an XLR out, but last time I used it out, I loved how good it sounded with my '64.

Orville made one that fits the reverse ......tight fit, dunno.....this one came from @GBassNorth ...Thx George!..... kinda hard to see under the Greco IV...
