Did Gibson ever make a fretless thunderbird? I just saw this listing. It looks more like a refin with a replacement ebony fingerboard.
Has anyone ever played a fretless tbird?

IIRC, that bass was discussed here some years ago, or one exactly like it. I think the answer was yes, they made a few. With ebony boards. V will know more.

If it's a factory fretless I bet the side dots are in the wrong locations too

I was ready to back out of it 2 days ago since I’ve got a few things to tackle, never mind trying to physically go to a music store.
So this past Monday, Anja’s dad firmed up the trip. I couldn’t say no.
It was his idea to begin with.
Anja her folks and I took a trip to Thomanns today.
Gotta a love a small footprint that sounds as huge as the big boys.
Quilter V803 and an Eich 112XS.
And to my surprise, Anja’s mom and dad bought me the cab.

This, exactly. I'll take a couple of each. What would I actually do with them? I don't know, exactly. The 2013 EB might look good with covers. Then again, that might make it a pain in the butt to play.

So It looks like there is interest that maybe Scott can do a run of covers. I’d commit to two bridge covers and four pickup covers.

1-1/4” sounds pretty thin. That’s a quarter inch thinner than my thinnest BaCH. You might want to confirm that measurement is correct. Good news is the bridge is surface mount and the pickups can fit in a very shallow rout.

It was not with a caliper. But best blind me could determine. And it comports with what Andy recalled. They are my thinnest basses.

So here’s a pic of the twins. The thin and light ‘15 is on the left. The BaCHs are thinner. No, I don’t know which batch they are from. The ‘15 is around 7 lbs 8 ounces. I don’t have an accurate scale to weigh the BaCHs, but they are close. I’m pretty sure 8 pounds or less. And the necks on both are exquisite. They make the ‘21 NR, which I love, seem like a porker.
