Just wondering if anyone happens to know what may have become of Killer Kane’s Thunderbird? I’m hoping it’s being used by someone in a band someplace that draws inspiration from The New York Dolls.

I believe that bridge was installed onto one of Jeff's Birds by the bridge maker himself, GOT...Chucky has so many, it’s hard to keep track. And new ones seem to fly in all the time.

I had the reverse E tuned to D to use for the few songs that require it
Quite aware of the Hipshot, more fun this way! Only slightly more effort involved.View attachment 7165193
I recommend this… the cone in the “Y” key as well to match what you already have.
Drop tuners seem neat but if you're playing songs in Eb standard or D standard instead of drop D there's a little less utility, plus if you have multiple basses it's kinda nice to have one that's properly set up with strings specifically chosen for the lower tuning.View attachment 7165193

They work for me well in my given situations. One band is E standard and I drop to d alone for some songs or with the guitar player for others. The other band is both Eb standard and D standard and in both of those tunings we drop to Db or C. So, that band requires I take two basses to practice and gigs.Drop tuners seem neat but if you're playing songs in Eb standard or D standard instead of drop D there's a little less utility, plus if you have multiple basses it's kinda nice to have one that's properly set up with strings specifically chosen for the lower tuning.

I'm starting to like these in a 5-string.Nice!
I’m getting to know the EB ‘13 that I picked up from George last week. Love the DeCola’s.

I would love to have that Mosrite bass.Well, it’s not his Thunderbird(s), but it appears quite a bit of his stuff was sent to auction by his wife, Barbara.
I’m actually a bit surprised that the basses don’t go for more money than you might find one for on Reverb.

Wigs rule...Probably not Kane's Bird, but this, and Overend Watts along with some others certainly inspired me as I came of age in the early '70s.
Never a moment of regret.

That's the minimum goal we try for anyway. But we aren't perfect.Welcome back! You got off easy. Dave leaves the hemisphere and we hit 25 pages before he lands.
