Thunderbird Club

I just bought some 9mm stainless rod to make a new longer endpin for my half size upright. I drilled a few holes about 3mm deep for the locking bolt to go into. It wasn't as difficult to drill as I thought.
Soft metal like brass will be even easier. Lol, fine. Thanks for that.

Although expected any day, this was still sad to see.

RIP David. Last of the Dolls.

Thanks. There are two Wanderlust green's that I'm looking at. One being the clawless one you posted. There is an intact mint condition used one at GC for $299 that was made in Indonesia. I thought all those were from China and the VPs from Indonesia. The one you saw is up to $175 now.
GC will pop a pickup out and let you know if it has Epiphone stamped in it.

Thanks. May do some contacting then. Even if not stamped, I'm thinking they would be a very noticeable improvement.
EDIT: I just emailed and asked if they knew if they had Epi on the back or not, and if not would it be a problem to pull one to find out. We'll see. If they are stamped and we can't come to terms, at least I'll know those have a good likelihood of having them.

Should be stamped 1 to 4.
I'll check them again, but Ive tried a couple orders. They are also sized for string diameter somewhat, and I thought I had them in descending size order.

Still likely going to get a better example, as it is pretty sloppy, like the tuners And may go chrome hardware. Long way from having to decide yet.

From the reunion show. Killer on a Thunderbird not long before he passed. Always loved the Dolls.

I saw the reunited Dolls in the summer of 2007 in a small club with Sami Yaffa on bass. They were so good. And so tight. Johansen was such a great frontman. That show ranks way up there as a top live music highlight for me. RIP.

Here is what I can see on the’64 pots:

Volume says EP085 500K 0750 C and the rest is under solder

Tone is either blank or all under solder

Caps are 0.02 at 50v, not sure what the other symbols mean

Update, the 0750 likely means 1967 week 50. CTS

Ok. You said tone doesn’t do much. Doesn’t cut treble or never has treble?

I found more photos of the 64 cavity and other than the date code (1967) on the volume pot, they look the same. I'm not shocked that a pot would go bad that quickly. A bad solder tech can overheat a pot pretty easily. My 2021 VP had 2 pots go out almost immediately after I bought it.

Looks much more like I expected.
