Thunderbird Club

Just picked up my Heritage Cherry NR Thunderbird from the great great House of Guitars! I waited quite awhile for this one, we would order Cherry and Gibson would send black. Worth the wait, nice and light plays great. I'll get the controls sorted out and get a video up soon.

Be careful and don’t hit the ceiling fan!

Potential Killer Deal! This is it. If you’ve been on the Greco sideline waiting for something to drop in your lap, you’re not gonna find a better deal that this!

If interested act fast, I’m guessing it’ll be gone by the end of the day…

No it’s not an Epiphone, it’s a Greco and looks to be a 1990 model with original pups. Irv can make a nice new truss cover with proper logo for a great price as well.

I’m not affiliated with the seller in any way and can’t vouch for condition of the bass, use your own good common sense.

I think George asked about recordings for the Thunderbird II. Here are some samples of the muted 64, Willbird, VP, CP, and 2015. The 2015 had a lot of string noise when tone was dimed. If I can get the mutes out of the way, I'll add that to the recording.

Just gave this a listen, the volume sure was high on the Thunderbird II. Unfortunately, I could see which bass was which tone. So I can't be unbiased. I will listen again with my eyes closed, and have someone alter the order of basses being played. First blush was not a lot of tonal difference. The 2 PUP basses had a bit more going on to my ears. The II sounded like an excellent P to my ears.

The waveform was the same for all the basses. So, any perceived volume difference must be more associated with the human ear and its frequency response???

I’d seriously consider that had I not just bought two basses in one week. And it has a custom roadworn finish.
