Thunderbird Club

I was surprised how much I liked the CP with D'As on it. The first two were my favorites. The 3rd sounded muffled but that was explained and made sense.
In that recording the first two (Greco and CP) sounded very similar to me. I think the real difference between the two comes into play when the pots are all dimed and the bridge pup is rolled back just a hair. In that setting the Greco is a beast.

I think Miles was curious about the CP with tapes on it. If I get a chance tomorrow I’ll record the CP with the NYXL strings currently on it and then install LaBella black tapewounds to see what the difference is.

Looks like I can squeeze in a White Wednesday post just before midnight…

I don’t hear that very often!

Wow! If I could find one of those gold sparkle ones I’d be all over it. Are they in standard EADG tuning?
Should be gCEA (higher G) though on my Tenor Uke I’ve opted for GCEA (low G) and play it like a rhythm guitar (mainly).

Not sure but I think proper uke tuning is G, C, E, and A. It is tuned like a bass at the moment tho. That sparkle gold would have been a real score!!

One of these years I’ll be retired and get to go. This year looks pretty strong. Friday night looks killer with The 1975, Biffy Clyro, and Alanis headlining. Neil is Saturday. As are Fogerty, Lucy Dacus, Weezer, and Nick Lowe. Sunday has Future Islands , St Vincent, the Brian Jonestown Massacre and the Selector. Just to name a few of who I’d like to see.

We're going to have to get you to the West Coast to try one out, not too far from Tacoma (inside joke)

I've got a couple trips to make, but it could happen. As soon as there's a date I can get into working it out. I've got an old friend I haven't got to hang with in years, he just guy through cancer treatment. He's all clear, and now I want to make a trip to Miami happen this year, early summer I think...

If it’s a bass Uke (21” scale) its tuning should be EADG or in some cases an octave higher than that. Since yours is just over 13” I’m not so sure how well a standard bass tuning would work.

You might not be far from our beloved @GonePlaid. If you get a chance, tip a beer with Mike for all of us. And for heavens sake post a pic.
