What could go wrong?
I'll be there mid September for your block party.

I bought a new guard for my ESP Surveyor to match your dress.

Did I mention that we had the street tree come crashing down a few weeks ago?
Since then I’ve had the frontage sorted by a landscaper, and the next day after they’d finished - the local council has come and planted a replacement tree.

A Blueberry Ash. An Aussie native that I really like, so I’m well pleased!

“Blueberry ash, also known as ash quandong or blue olive berry, normally grows to a height of 5-15m”

“Blueberry ash flowers in the summer, producing a mass of bell-shaped flowers that are usually white, and occasionally pink. The beautiful fringe-edged flowers produce a blue olive-shaped fruit that ripens from April to October, attracting a range of Australian birds such as wonga pigeons and crimson rosellas.“

Hopefully, not like our flowering pear where the birds eat the berries and then :poop: all over the yard. :rollno:

Yeah, it’s replacing a pear that had non consequential confetti like flowers and no fruit.

One of the birds that the Blueberry Ash is supposed to attract is the Crimson Rosella which are very nice birds. We have lots of Rainbow Lorikeets here so I hope they get a feed as well.
Beautiful little parrots that should add some colour!

I’d let those :poop: on my yard all they wanted.

Just picked up my Heritage Cherry NR Thunderbird from the great great House of Guitars! I waited quite awhile for this one, we would order Cherry and Gibson would send black. Worth the wait, nice and light plays great. I'll get the controls sorted out and get a video up soon.
Congrats! The cherry NRs are gorgeous.

I say buy them now, have them shipped to me, and I’ll send you the set out of the broken VP. Sound like a fair deal? It does to me….
That's not as crazy as it sounds.* I basically paid $207 (free shipping) for a pair of the 760s--but with the intent of selling the embassy with the Koreabuckers to lower the cost. But would not been sad if I got nothing from the donor Epi and just paid that for fantastic pickups. But doggone, I ended up with a fantastic playing and sounding bass that looks great. First world problems we must carry.

*I'm like Scott and think the 760s are awfully close the the 60s and more so than virtually all by a lot. Not that others don't sound good in their own way. That said, I think the reissues would not be a bad option at all if I need to go that rout.

It might be best option. Or search for a damaged Embassy - you know, like headless or something, not like that near spotless example you got the other day. :D
Yes, it will have to be a damaged something. From searching and seeing what popped up from the past it seems the pickups themselves show up less than once a year if not two. There are several bodies of VPs, etc, and Embassys where the pickups have been robbed. Makes you wonder who is putting them where. Clearly they have a following.

I sold a pair to Richard in 2023 for $125 + a 1964 Ampeg (CTS) 15” speaker. I am happy with that deal. That was the night Marshall was drooling over Richard’s groupie.

Played the Greco with the band tonight. Band loved it - look and tone.

The neck has some finish chipping on the bottom edge of the fretboard I’m going to get fixed and it neck dives so it’s going to get a strap button on the neck heel, but otherwise sublime.

I might look for a second one.
You won’t find a better deal on a Greco than this…

I have a 1977 single pickup Greco and a 1990 dual pickup Greco, both sound equally fantastic but of the two, I favor the dual pickup for its extended tonal range. The black one listed above would make an awesome gigging bass and workhorse.

I move the strap button on most of my basses to the neck feel, including the two Grecobackers. Just feels better there. I did the same mod to my TB900 too.

That's great.

But who seriously needs more Thunderbirds? That's just weird.
