You basically never see cabovers in the States anymore so that layout is really alluring to me, especially in a pickup. I really dig the Japanese beds that convert into a flatbed too, along with the older style of tiedowns on Toyota pickups where they're on the outside of the bed. The little buckles on the 2nd gen HiLux tailgate are so simple it's appealing to me.

US protectionism/safety regulations keep out a lot of the JDM stuff though, so the only stuff we get is 25+ years old, meaning I could become the proud owner of a HiAce fire truck, provided it's from before 2000.

They discontinued the HiAce pickup in 2001 apparently, so starting next year I guess I could start shopping for the most advanced model they ever made
