lol, not knocking, their soup and salad ain't bad...
I always say that if OG was supposed to be known for their soup, salad, and breadsticks, mission accomplished. BUT it is supposed to be known for pasta, and they are mediocre at best at that. This is all just my humble opinion and YMMV.

sweetest dude who knows what bass players want...don't know if I mentioned it but More Music was an approved Ashdown distributor for awhile so we got to play with all kinds of goodies and they gave us excellent support, fun company with very competent chill folks..

I kinda wish I'd stumbled into Trace a long time ago, a old buddy of mine had one back in the '80s, he let use it for a project we worked on (he played drums and bass) together. At the time all I had was my 4001 and it was friggin' glorious through that rig, when it came time to really own some gear for The Nasty Habits, GK was the choice for something new and I went with it for a long time, but Trace, just gives me the tone I really like, no other stuff needed. I have to think that Ashdown has something of the TE sound in it - Next time I'm down we'll have to ignore the SVT and give it a spin. ;)

yeah was wondering why you haven't tried one yet..kinda like the evolution of the Trace but even more focused...
maybe this one's still around?.....

I might've asked this before, but search is verboten. How do you find the Trace different/better than the GK for you?

Mine is a GP7-SM, I think. For what I do, it's perfect, you don't have to turn it up to get good tone out of it which makes FOH guys happy and I can still enjoy it on stage as well. I think it's voicing is the best of any of my four amps and with the SWR it's just perfect for what we do. I'm not a flashy player, don't use effects, just do the thing. It's simple, reasonably robust, not difficult to move (not a 1 trip deal tho) and at 1K total for both the amp and cab, it's easily the best $$$ I've ever spent on amplification.

Love my rig!

Still love the Trace gear.

V's 200 Watter (forget the model) screams into that SWR Goliath 6x10".... GREAT sounding head, voicing unlike any other bass amp imho.....

The Mk IV I got for $80, delivered in pieces, is finally going to the local guy who's been doing my amp stuff. It's probably going to hurt a little 🫣😂... It's an AH250, but being the old, legendary Trace gear I'm hoping it can push the Ampeg tank, which is rated 600w @4 ohms.
It's just for the lark of it really... I just finished the sleeve, and while the amp is doing beach time I'll finish it, paint it and put required hardware on it. Nothing's hinging on it though. It's from back in my early days, and just for fun. But if it stands up and delivers, I'll use it.

I actually prefer OG over Buca di Beppo. We have friends who love to go there (Buca). Some things are good, some of the worst spaghetti and meatballs I ever had. (How do you screw that up at such a place?) All of it is way, way over priced. IMO. There is a great Italian place here. Very high-dollar, but it's great. Makes Buca di Beppo seem like the White Castle of Italian food, if that.

For me there are two most important aspects to Italian food: red sauce, and pasta.
And it has to be "home style", no pre-made freezer ballast.
The sauce has to be really, really good.
The pasta is always al dente.
The rest is subjective...

Agree. I only about two things only. I could go just for the salad. I love it.

@BklynKen here's the Schroeder 1210... 850w @4 ohms. Louder than I was ready for, considering the size.

The Eden seems to handle it, but that's without an A/B comparison, or a live mix.
I have wondered about those cabs. I’ve driven by his shop for years on the way to the in-laws’ house. Prices seem fair. He was the EiCH distributor for a while until a couple years ago. Interested in hearing what you think of it.

Used to be a great Italian place just across the river in Jeffersonville, IN. It was a gem of a place. The owner, Ray, got there early and personally made meatballs every day (and a few other things). In the evenings he would walk around and talk to customers and ask if everything was alright. And he really wanted to know. After a while he would know your face and be happy to see you like family. It was a place I would take dates (if they were worthy!). Unfortunately he closed a several years ago. He was class act all the way. Everything was great and he kept things affordable. Who overcharges family?

"Ray Parrella, a U.S. Army veteran, met his wife, Rita, while he was stationed at Fort Knox. With a collection of his mother's Italian recipes, the couple along with their five children moved to Jeffersonville. In 1964, he opened Ray Parrella's Italian Restaurant in the Quartermaster Depot and it quickly became a Jeffersonville favorite. It moved to 214 West Court Avenue in 1972. Parrella was also an avid and accomplished distance runner, competing in more than 300 races. He still holds several local and national records. He continues to contribute to Jeffersonville through civic involvement."

All the cool kids have SWR Goliath Sr's. It's way easier to move than that dead body of an SWR Goliath III 410 I have. Sounds great with everything I have: the Dingwall, Spectors, vintage Charvel 4b, any generic FSO one may have.

I really like my original SWR Goliath 410. Really heavy, but it's on casters. Too bad I never get to use it.

Be careful, i dont know how hard you have to work that amp.
