Thunderbird Club

Ive got a shiny new pair of 916 customs waiting for this build. They're 12mm thick, excluding cable clearance.

Rout depth is 20mm. I'll be re-routing the outline once my template arrives, so If I need to go deeper I can.

Ironically, the ???- brand pickups that came with the kit are hugely thick. 23mm, plus cable. Even sitting flat on the bottom of the rout they stick out:

Smaller in both other dimensions than standard Tbird outline, thankfully, so I can recut precisely.
Ahhh, I forgot about the 916 pickups!

Here's something a little different.

Maruszczyk Jake 4p with Hauessel TB pickups

Lots of clarity, lows, and growl. But, also sounds like it would have a big bark to it, if played a little more firmly!

Haeussel doesn't list Thunderbird pickups on their site. Do these go by another name or are they Custom Shop?

One of these days I'm gonig to show up and we'll go for a ride in that glorious machine :)

Meantime, still Twosday.......

They said he was on his was home from a car club meeting… just hit a surprise dump of rain and oops! He’d be feeling it as a good genuine HQ Monaro coupe is upwards of AU$100k, maybe over AU$200k depending on spec and condition.
When I was first driving I could have got a rough one for around AU$2000… A nearish neighbour got a “Jamaica Lime” coloured coupe in the early 80s.

Midstrength beer has become very popular as the drink driving laws are strict.

so do the cows.
Our half grown German Shepherd sure did. When we got a pen built (required a rock drill) and I removed the e-fence from the barn doorway (no door), I had to carry him through because he refused to get too close to the opening. And he peed himself as we went through the doorway. I had to carry him through several times before he'd even consider going through on his own (they still slept in the barn).
I get it. I was a lot bigger than him, and I still saw stars and could hardly move for a few seconds after accidentally touching the metal wall and the fencing...
