Thunderbird Club

We have four of them. They ain’t cheep. That guy has them custom made in Japan. I accidentally forgot right after they were installed and stepped on one wearing socks. They work.
That would definitely happen to me. But only once. I got zapped by a cattle grade electric fence once. You tend to remember.

My only "II"

I love honest wear and tear on a bass, that's the real deal right there!
Roger that. I personally have no use for relicing an instrument but am perfectly happy to have instruments that have clearly been played. I'll certainly add some wear and tear through use.

I enjoy working on instruments as much as playing them.

I'm like that with the model trains, love to sit at my desk and build....

Mixed materials are fun.

Completely understand. I have way more basses than I need. But will be selling a G&L L2k Redburst before too long. I've got the perfect G&L in the '81 L1k so the Redburst will be moved along.
I have too many, but I like 'em all. And there's room in the basement for them all, so they all stay. Why make a choice if you don't have to?

That looks good to me. You might want to check the depth of the routes. If you're putting in Epiphone IV type pickups, they are quite tall.
Ive got a shiny new pair of 916 customs waiting for this build. They're 12mm thick, excluding cable clearance.

Rout depth is 20mm. I'll be re-routing the outline once my template arrives, so If I need to go deeper I can.

Ironically, the ???- brand pickups that came with the kit are hugely thick. 23mm, plus cable. Even sitting flat on the bottom of the rout they stick out:

Smaller in both other dimensions than standard Tbird outline, thankfully, so I can recut precisely.
