The bolt on screws are under the plies, making it seem like a neck-through.
No, that can't be it either. GC descriptions are often worth reading just for the unintended humor.

Practically nothing. I doubt anyone could tell the difference.

They seem to have stopped that a while ago. I haven't gotten one in a long time.
