Thunderbird Club

Plucked the rest of the feathers...
Given the way some of the holes line up diagonally--I might turn this into a Jazz.:rollno:

Now I can finally begin some noticeable progress. Like filling in all the holes in the Bonnie and Clyde Bird.

Spent the morning with the genius bar nerds. I upgraded from an iPhone 12 to 16e. All seemed well until I tried to sync to iTunes. Wiped all the music off my phone and iTunes. Apple says, you don't use Apple Music, so we think you have no rights to the music. So, Spotify Premium, which allows offline listening, isn't accepted by Apple. A bit of anti trust?

@MCF
Marshall, it’s calling your name and has a decent price tag…

These things don’t photograph well, our Queen swears hers is striking in person, as I suspect this one would be.
Thanks, but nope. No bag, still have to pay tax. IMO, $150 off new isn’t enough of a discount for a used one. But that’s just me.

I use Spotify premium without issue on my IOS devices. I do not use Apple Music. I have not used iTunes in probably 15 years. I’m still having AppStore account issues on my 16 that I got in January. I have spent hours on the phone with the Apple support. They were supposed to restore my account in February. But nope. They don’t even want to address it at the in-store “genius” bar. They are no better than that Google crap these days. The customer service has really suffered over the last year or two. Sign of the times I guess.

Jealous! That would be a very cool!
Holy cow, that was an awesome keynote! And come to find out they used a whole slew of Cirrus chips. He gave a brief overview of major advances in sound systems, then described what HOLOPORT had to do to design, build, install, and tune the Sphere.
When MSG first went to HOLOPORT about providing sound for the sphere, it was a startup with the founder and a few students. Then a hot shot sound guy with a dozen executives showed up in a private jet to talk to them and hand them a million dollars to start the project. They had to send someone to Ikea to buy chairs for their guests. The parameters they had to work under (under 1.5MW power, no more than 300 tons of gear (IIRC; they came in just over half that), and since the whole inside of the building is a giant video screen (save the floor), the speaker system had to be completely hidden. The challenges, the solutions, the surprises along the way ... what a wild ride. The company has done a bunch of other cool stuff, too. They're the reason the recorded announcements at the Frankfurt Train station (for instance) are so legible.

Wow, Bonnie and Clyde is right! I count about 50 holes in that beast. I’m sure it’ll be beautiful when it’s done.

Spotify works great on my Samsung Galaxy.... ;) Kidding aside, that does suck.
All may other devices and laptops are Mac. But I like my Samsung just fine.

I'm back in the gang! I recently bought a red Gibson non-reverse but returned it, I just couldn't get on with that neck. But, that tone! Best-sounding Thunderbird I've ever owned.
So I had to scratch the itch and out of nowhere this popped up for sale, and at an excellent price.
Tonally it's a LOT darker than the NR but with some extreme EQ I can get that Who Live at the Young Vic sound I love so much.
These Orvilles are rare birds over here in the UK and I'm thrilled with it. Can anybody recommend a hardcase that it will fit inside? 😆

Might be heavy after filling all the holes. There are even 4 holes in the back. I suppose drill-through issues. Can't imagine what else could be the reason. But even then you would think after the first you would stop and rethink depth.
