I suspect they all grouped on one side for a photo op and that glipped the boat. It happened to a party boat in Austin when they went by Hippie Hollow (local nude beach) and everyone ran to one side of the boat.

Hah! In this case, it was Sweetwater, so I could either save the email as a PDF or log into my account there and download the invoice from the orders list.
17 inches. The bridge is just installed a bit south of what I'd expect. For these strings, at least, the intonation works well within the adjustability. We'll see how the EBCFs fare.
Let's just say when we checked it out, it felt like home. I fit in pretty well.
Flush mount strap pins arrive today.
New pots arrive today
Gotoh res-o-lite GB528 in nickel arrive Friday.
Could not find Lollipop tuners: that weren’t X -nickel (dull satin finish) or out of stock.
These were just over 1/2 the cost of the vintage big plate Res-O-Lites.
The Hipshot are HEAVIER than these.
I’m going to wait to relocate strap pins till after I see what the balance is with these installed.
I want to alleviate face tilt, so I’m hoping these will shave off enough that I can move neck side pin to the body edge.
Will document electrical surgery when I get around to it.
Played the Bird for a couple hours yesterday:
The power steels are settling in.
Nut is really low, neck is STRAIGHT overall action is comfortably low, higher than it can go: but need space to accommodate my rusty pick technique. :-(
The intonation is now dead on per my strobostomp.
There are many good tones in this bass.
“One trick pony” it is not.
Still getting used to the ergonomics: but I’m going to gig it at all 4 gigs next week.
Will bring the Acinonyx as backup.

For those of you interested in what a DiMarzo One at the Mudbucker location sounds like on a bird, here’s a quick sample…
Keep in mind it’s in an active preamp layout with the treble on max (18db boost) and the bass flat (zero boost or cut).
Played on the G string with a D string drone, finger style and right hand over middle pickup. Strings are Cobalt Rounds.
Nice and thick but still articulate.

Is it safe to say that having the active preamp is what’s giving that pick up that extra zing?
If it was a blindfold listen, I’d never guess it’d be a Dimarzio Model One.
Actually, it’s not a true Mudbucker, it’s just an over wound humbucker with about the same values as the Goth pickups. That said, 18db boost on treble is pretty huge. For reference, here’s a clip of just the bridge pickup soloed on all the exact same settings…
So it's a 34" scale. If the bridge is placed properly, the G saddle moved to its Northmost position would be at 34 1/16".
Jeff you bring up an interesting point. Just how much difference does the active preamp make? To find out I put it in passive mode and recorded a couple more sound clips. To my ears it’s pretty significant…

To my ears, active will typically sound more modern and crisp.

I like it better passive. It almost sounds like a nylon string classical guitar, especially with some bridge added in.
I forgot to mention that these don't have the mangled, sharp-edged pickup mounting screws that were an unadvertised feature of the VP. (Possibly inspired by @bylar13 ?)
