Beautiful as it is, it needs some changes:
Notice the 2021 NR set notes Rhy vs Lead for the neck/bridge pickup. When you buy the Vintage Re-issue pickups directly from the Gibson website, you only get “Lead”. Or at least the first two I bought were both “Lead”:

Replacing the big, thick TB+ pickups with the much thinner 2021 NR/Reissue set takes some “material” to keep them up and from being too loose:

Gotta make sure the spring doesn’t sit on the pickup lead:

It is a nice one, and the price was right, but the one I missed was darker and had much more obvious graining, which I would have preferred. But yes, this is a really nice one, and really light. Good player so far, the brand new strings (Boomers) probably need to wear in a bit.Very nice grain, she's a beauty!
Looks great! Where did you end up getting the trim rings for the new Gibson pickups? And did they fit the pickups, or did you have to file them down?Got my 2014 Cherry:

Interesting, that’s where I got my trim rings as well, and they’re too small by a hair to slip down over the pickups. Not sure if I want to unsolder the pickup covers and resize the cans (they flare out at the bottom where the solder joint meets the pup base) or if I just want to file the trim rings down a bit so they fit the pickups.Philadelphia Luthier Supply. And they fit, just need to put them on last. Mine are double stick taped to the body, and the screws are cut and just the head is glued in the rings.
