…don’t know how it looked before, but I needed a blue one

I thought that one was Joe West's bass originally, I not so sure now. I think Joe skinned some TB Plus pickups and potted them into '76 covers and I think his was a slightly different color - I'm prepared to be corrected though

If this was Joe W's, as V said it would have (or had) Gibson TB+ that had been skinned and encased in 70's Gibson sidewinder pickup covers. His blue was a bit different, more metallic but the color difference could just be due to my laptop screen. The second owner he sold it to (also named Joe) played the $#!+ out of it so the finish was very worn after a bit. This COULD be that same bass if the second Joe sold it and shipped it to Germany and the next owner refinished it, which is possible.

Either way, I bet its a killer bass!! Congrats!!

The '67 NR IV will go for a little over 1/2 of that. Includes original PG and Coffin case. Shoes were thrown away a while ago.

Not liking that Mike. I hope you can hang onto it. Can you rob a bank or something?* Honestly, if I were not into restoring the '66 NR and just bought a car, I would buy it from you--and hopefully sell it back to you down the road.

Totally agree. What’s the point?

There isn't one. Not an adult one anyway. But that goof didn't know that. I don't mind modding things but obviously it didn't turn out to be a working solution to a non-problem. They modded it and now want to sell it it.

There isn't one. Not an adult one anyway. But that goof didn't know that. I don't mind modding things but obviously it didn't turn out to be a working solution to a non-problem. They modded it and now want to sell it it.

While I’m not much of an EMG fan, they do make a P pickup in a Thunderbird cover.

Thanks Irv, I think so, yeah.
So one p'up has the shield connected, hence two leads. The other pu'p has it as a separate wire, hence three leads...

The braided shield is the second lead.

Barb played at our monthly concert at work today. The bass player (Wyatt?) played a left handed Jazz bass through a Rumble 40 with the tone controls all at 12, DI to FOH. It sounded great.

doesn't look factory, look at the stringy shield weld on the pot....also, all three lugs of the pots seem in use...

Yup, those jumped right out. Some burned insulation, too.
