Thunderbird Club

The original Danos were stock at 3.7 - 3.9k
Average coil readings were 4.2 - 5k / 4.5k being average.

The most sought after are the 4.7k pickups

Danos were known for being cost cut guitars. Funny that the pickups were wound with plain enamel. Maybe PE was not expensive then like it is now.
Never would have guessed so low. If I mistakenly dig in, the output distorts all my amp/speaker combos. None of my other basses do that. Maybe something with the cobalt strings? Though same strings on my CP and no issues.

The first two Dano Strat sets built to get the numbers. Just incase someone wanted Dano tone in a Strat

Second picture is making cut down bass bobbins into something that goes around A6 bar magnets to go into something like a P90 cover

Is your guitar a original 50's or a reissue? I noticed some of the reissue stuff is not near factory.

No guess?
Answer to what they all have in common - none of them are my favorite bands.

BTW - isn’t today smarta$$ Sunday?
Yeah but that’s not it.
It was still Sunday (just) when I posted. 8am Monday now.

Answer: each has at least one member that spent some of their childhood years in Australia.
Blackpink = Rosé Melbourne
Red hot CP = Flea Melbourne
Bee Gees = Barry, Robin & Maurice Brisbane
(plus Vince Melouney lead guitar & Colin Peterson drums when they played in Australia and first trip to UK)

3.68 neck with all other volume and tone off. 3.61 bridge.
There are a few things that can be done to fix your issues. Since it is a bass the coils could be wound to the 5-6k range at minimum. If there is room in the tube a neo bar could bring up the gauss. The pickups are a bit anemic in both winds and gauss.

Maybe some kind of boost pedal if wanting to keep pickups stock

Trying to be good and not immediately nab a Greco bird that’s just come to my attention…

I wanted to hold off bass purchases until a Gibson Ripper comes along but this bird’s song is making it hard!

I’d have to get it without trying it, though…

Only too happy to help (enable) you.......

You can hear it and I talk about it as well.
