Used the '64 with DTFs last night to keep playing them in. Used the AMB most of the time and was very happy. Used the Ampeg tubes and did like it a tad more. But was happy with the ABM. If I had a hour to just adjust each aspect of the EQ and notice the impact I could get closer to the Ampeg, but it just has some extra tube magic going on that I don't think can be completely replicated. I'm definitely getting closer to where Ashdown could be my main head. Fortunately I don't have to decide and can enjoy both.

Odd thing: The A on the E string or open A sounded bland, or less full with both heads. Which was what I was noticing Sunday during one song. I thought it was just on the E string, but not so. Anyone ever encounter something like this?

Pickup height? The pickup screws come loose on the 13 and that's what starts happening...

both stunning as well....our bombers (with the exception of anything Consolidated lol) were always so much better looking than anyone else's..ymmv...

I experience something akin to this at our practice space with the A notes. Any note but A is fine, but when I hit A, it gets really boomy. It can definitely be the room.

That sounds like either a cabinet issue or a room resonance issue. You can try re-aiming the speaker cab as one way to address the latter.

I did play a bit at home during lunch and didn't notice anything odd. Even used some headphones and still nothing weird.

Anyone looking for a sealed cab to pair with a SVT or similar? Berg is doing a limited run of a “vertical “ NV410 T. It’s heavy at 79 lbs. And it ain’t cheap at $1795. I have an old NV610 and it’s a stellar sounding cab.

Yeah, hence "two of the best", not "the two best". The Lightning, Mustang, and Superfortress" (among others) were also phenom. And as recently referenced, Corsairs.

didn't know that....thought they were favored in PTO because of their twin engine redundancy.....if I recall, Bong was very successful in one of those but can't recall the theater....

Yep. He did a limited reissue of the NV 610 last year “by popular demand” so to speak. Not sure how many he did, but they sold out quickly. Obviously for someone with a specific want and who has cash to burn. Leaves me out…

That HT322 I had was by far the best cabinet I ever played through.

This rig wasn’t to shabby either.
