Yeah, I remember back in the early 80’s when I was young and stupid (just stupid now) and bought a Chrysler Laser Turbo (Dodge Daytona variant) because it had a 5 year 50,000 mile warranty. In the two years I had it, it probably racked up 50,000 vertical miles on the maintenance lift. Never made that mistake again.Yeah, I don't care how good the warranty is if the quality isn't there.
Thank you! I will check it out.An ohmmeter is all I have ever used to check audio cables. I just did a quick search and found this:

I just stripped mine and ended up taking the veneers off. The wings are veneer front and back.Is that correct? I just assumed the body was solid mahogany on the Tobbaco burst E1 type Eppis.
Neutrik makes 2 types. One is a combo that takes a 1/4". The other does not.I've seen Speakons that will not even allow a 1/4" jack plug as they are intended to.....the fact that GC warranties them for life doesn't help poor schmoe with intermittent issues mid gig...
Ha! We almost bought one in ‘85 because they were so cheap at the big Sac dealer where Chrysler dumped hundreds of them.Yeah, I remember back in the early 80’s when I was young and stupid (just stupid now) and bought a Chrysler Laser Turbo (Dodge Daytona variant) because it had a 5 year 50,000 mile warranty. Also, stop buying cheap cables.
If it’s this one, I should think so…A GK Fusion S 800 for just under $800 after tax and shipping see like a good deal?
I make my own....one less thing to worry about....Actually, lately, I mostly always buy my cables now from procablesnsound.com
I knew the raised section was plywood but wasn’t aware the wings (or body actually) was capped with veneer. The wood underneath looks like mahogany, is it?I just stripped mine and ended up taking the veneers off. The wings are veneer front and back.
That’s why there’s no belly cut.
The raised sections front and back are plywood.

I’m not very GK knowledgeable. Ken certainly is. But that seems like a great deal for that head if you want to see what it does. You’re relatively close to the factory in Stockton, so there’s that. I would expect it to match well with that 212 you’ve been taliking about. You could find your next favorite tone. If not, it seems like you wouldn’t be out anything trying. JMO.A used one, but yes that one.
You know it!You've hit the big time!
It looks like a lower grade of mahogany to me. One of the wings on mine is 2 pieces.I knew the raised section was plywood but wasn’t aware the wings (or body actually) was capped with veneer. The wood underneath looks like mahogany, is it?
Same here for speaker cables.I make my own....one less thing to worry about....

right, but the ones that are not 1/4" compatible have no place in a speaker enclosure......of course, ymmv...Neutrik makes 2 types. One is a combo that takes a 1/4". The other does not.
Personally, I think you made a good decision jumping on the head. If you don’t care for it, I suspect someone here will take it.GK related, and, even though I didn’t buy the head new, this little experience I just had pushed me to making the “good deal” purchase for yet another amp…
…while playing my HOD / GK212 very low in my garage yesterday, I noticed a little buzz in the cab around the open E, and F, F# and determined it was coming from the top speaker of the two 12’s. Not a big deal, you really don’t hear it when playing louder, and certainly not when playing along with recordings or with the band, but it is a brand new cab and under warranty. Just for the heck of it I sent a message to GK support yesterday and first thing this morning, I got a message asking for the serial number and my address to send a new speaker. I don’t even think they want the other one back…
Good customer service is pretty important to me, and GK just scored serious points with me.
