Thunderbird Club

A bit from last night, onstage sound was abysmal, I really struggled to hear myself the entire evening, sound guy would not put bass into the monitor ( I think it doesn't like it!) The was way too much
kick drum and guitar. The result was me playing a terrible show, I clamed this up.

While I/we would love to have good sound people with good equipment putting our sound out front, places here won't pay for that*. And if we run my/our PA(which can be a PIMA to schlep) we know-and control-what goes out front.

*lately they won't pay for any live music, so there's that :banghead:

I think your playing is great.
And love your tone!!!

The sound out front was evidently pretty good, onstage was difficult, I haven't screwed up that much in a long, long time.

Seattle is a great town for music, ( and raw oysters) beer, food............. I love it here!

And so begins(actually yesterday)my 80th year on the planet. I'm doing all I can to contain my excitement. :meh:

Well Happy Birthday, Mike! Sorry I missed it.

did you play mostly fingers?...

Mostly pick last night, the FOH was decent enough from what I gather, onstage was not good. It was pretty warm inside as well, (not California warm) Seattle was almost 90 yesterday and there was a real lack of effective A/C in the venue.

The sound was very good last night. For once, I didn't have a guitar amp blasting at me and could hear the vocals and the bass. We ran the bass into my amp and also from my board into the PA. No feedback from the upright, but it was clearly audible. As were all my clams. Take the good with the bad.

just that "icky" onstage feeling.....look at the bright side, most here (myself included) probably can't remember last time they went through a PA...

Well happy belated birthday buddy!
That’s quite a milestone, many here would consider themselves blessed to still be actively performing (not to mention just playing or even vertical) at that stage in life.
Congrats brother!

There are times (like last night) when it would be nice to just turn up the amp and let it do the work.
