Who's That did a outdoor show Saturday, in the 90's and high humidity, it almost killed us! Lots of fun though.

My sentiments exactly! I have a MIJ P that I bought back in '87 because it's that metallic blue that Steve "God" Harris's bass was back in the '80's. Never really warmed up to it though. A couple years ago I slapped a set of SD SPB-4 Steve Harris signature P pups in hopes of lighting a fire under my ass to play it more, result, yawn.... I've stuck with my TBirds and BCR Mockingbirds/Eagle and my Hamer Blitz's when I haul them out of the closet. The look of the Jazz has just never done anything for me but the Aerodyne did pique my interest, just not enough to fork over the $ for one.

That's my twin brother Rick! I dragged him out of retirement for this gig. He got the gong about two months ago, it really adds another dimension to the show!

lacquer thinner/acetone/naptha (lighter fluid) all work for cleaning. Three coats about 10 minutes apart wok for me. The stuff is very thin, apply carefully so it doesn't run. I've been using leather dye since the late '60s, made my share of boo boos!

That's really great!

Something unique like a gong sure does make a difference. I use a brake drum for the same reason. It has a different sound from a gong, but it wakes up the audience and it's unique. Seeing your brother's gong in that photo made my day.

GOOD LAWD!!! Outdoor gig??? 90 degree heat??? Mister, you're a better man than I! Ya woulda hadda push my a$$ into the ambulance with a couple o' squeegees!!! I'm a Michigan boy. Anything over 65 - 70 degrees, is "tropical rainforest" to me!!!:***::dead:

Ya know... I can't recall ever noticing a bass player using Hiwatt. Must be cuz YOU got 'em all!:cool:

Maaaan... that warhorse you're banging' on, has to be the coolest NR I've seen! You can just feel the mojo pouring out of it!:bassist:

Then you certainly would not enjoy the weather here in NY right now, just nasty humid........................
I'm like you bro, can't handle anything much over 75dg's myself.

And Hiwatts are in a league of their own Fixer.
Quite awesome they are!

Screw it! You guys wanna all meet in Santa Ana? I hear the state of California has a law in place stating that it is unlawful for temperatures to exceed 85 degrees, and that there must be a consistent breeze described only as "cool". I could probably hang with that...
