There's another one for sale there and it seems the strings on that one are not exactly at tension either. There may be a pattern emerging here.

Aside from needing to rewire it to work with a standard jack... always like checking out the strange Russian basses but would never consider buying one. Funky 60's Italian basses on the other hand...

Ya see... I kinda have this thing where I hafta post that pic anytime someone uses the phrase "Evil Empire". Same as I hafta post this one anytime someone uses the phrase "Only a Lad"

My post regarding 7enders is just my own experience with them, I certainly don't expect everyone to agree. "Play what you love, love what you play" Wish I'd said that first.

I use Fiebing's leather dye both to 'ebonize' rosewood (top neck)

and with extra application to black out dots (on the white MAX).

Sharpie also works, touch up as necessary.

Questions: What do you clean the fretboard with before applying the dye, and how many layers of dye does the fretboard need before you get a good result?

Ya know... THAT is a good idea! The 3 of us that didn't split, are gonna keep makin' music. We can play without a drummer, at the singer's house, where he has lotsa recording equipment & stuff. That'll help keep the juices flowin'. Each of us has friends from years past, that might be able to fill the drummer's throne. If we can't make a connection... I'm gonna suggest your idea!
