Yes, misspelt, it made me laugh.

Project Brunswick.
Please excuse the messes in background, I’m in the midst of preparing for relocation!

Messy break , fretboard is separating also.
Headstock seems to have further stress cracks.

Prognosis? Transplant will be necessary for full recovery.

Appropriate donor rescued from a chop shop on EBay for a fair cost.

Body and finish are LIGHT YEARS better than my Purple bird . Have in hand parts necessary to complete the body. Or do I get a little mad scientist…

They are the Squier version of the Fender Rascal which came out as a limited run about ten years ago. The 7ender had three lipstick pickups. Short scale on a regular Bass VI body. They were “different.” I played a couple as I was trying to decide if I wanted one. They looked awesome in a Turquoise finish and sounded pretty good. I believe they were originally $699.00. MIM. Main drawback was that you had to pop the neck to adjust the trussrod.

I think the Squier Rascal is a cool concept. I want to try one but haven’t seen one in stores. I went to GC in West L.A. when I was down a few weeks ago for the eye biz to see if they had one. No luck.

Ugh! Yeah. Transplant is probably the way to go.

Should be fun.
LOL - That’s a fine travel bass you got there. All three pieces should pack up nicely into a suitcase.
Seriously, looks like a great donor bass but too much work to fix.

I wouldn’t mind an 810 again.
But that would be just pure insanity for my needs.
My back hurts just looking at it.

I think the Berg NV610, which is 96 pounds, is more practical and easier to maneuver. I think I can still manage getting it into the back of the Crosstrek if I need to. Insanity for my needs. But I love it.

That's why you passed on the 150 pound 1540he.

Not really. I would have taken it and should have that day, but I thought I would get back up for it. Didn’t break my heart not to get it. But could have been fun. It would have gone into the basement and never left until my family had to deal with my stuff when I “go.”

Yeah, when Richard sent me shots where I could see the break, and that it was really splintery. A “clean” rejoining may need a fair bit of tedious removal of wood splintering to mate the parts once again.

Too much effort .

It was a mutual agreement to further amputate to get the carcass in a smaller box.

Shipping was insanely cheap.

The Epi neck can be mated by routing a pocket. I got the complete unit for less than an Amazon bare wood or finished “73nder” spec neck, or a paddle head.
