Thunderbird Club

How are you liking that bridge?
big fan of those... just went on this J, tweaking now....had Becca clean up the finish a little bit....picked it up yesterday but still not dialed the way I pictured it.....definitely getting there.... Becca did good work but I've been picturing this setup for a while now....
yesterday....

Yes, misspelt, it made me laugh.

Project Brunswick.
Please excuse the messes in background, I’m in the midst of preparing for relocation!

Messy break , fretboard is separating also.
Headstock seems to have further stress cracks.

Prognosis? Transplant will be necessary for full recovery.

Appropriate donor rescued from a chop shop on EBay for a fair cost.

Body and finish are LIGHT YEARS better than my Purple bird . Have in hand parts necessary to complete the body. Or do I get a little mad scientist…

Should be fun.
Foldaway Thunderbirds for those moving. Brilliant!

The '64 Thunderbird w/DTFs and the new ABM 300 today. Sounded great. Crazy fat and full. Big. Can't ask for more. Hardly any EQ, mostly flat. Tube full on as always and having some overdrive (not distortion) going on. Never once thought, "I just need to fire up the Ampeg tubes."
I did notice some buzz with the volume up on the bass when nothing was going on, even both pickups up. Take the tube drive out and it was quite. Not loud to be a problem, but there. Not sure what that was about, but it's something I can live with.

T Bird covers used for guitar by request. Iommi "Monkey" 7 string. These are for a SSH Guitar.

Recent re-purchase from a small upper Oregon (mostly metal) used LP shop - "Blowin' Free" gets a lot of attention, but this song is very cool and an outstanding example of Martin Turner's melodically focused (T-bird) playing in 1972 - I saw Wishbone Ash in KC/MO in '73, and bought my '63 II the following year.

Argus! What a stellar album! Martin was still using the Ric for that recording. The Ric was stolen shortly thereafter. That’s when he shamed Overend into selling him the busted up Tbird that Martin made famous. He used that Tbird on the tour you saw. I’m jealous! And made me a Tbird lover. Wishbone Four is all Tbird. A must have.

Much debated. They toured to support the release of Argus. It was on the first leg in the UK that he started using the Tbird, according to everything I’ve read. The Live Dates album is supposed to be mostly Tbird.

For the most exquisite Tbird tone, crank the Ballad of the Beacon from Four. That’s the tone I chase.

Rock n' Roll Monday. I would prefer earthquakes use a normal work schedule. 4.3 in Berkeley at 2:56am. Did the wave make it to Holister and Diablo Grande?
Felt it big-time in SF -
