Do it!
You had to make most of us look it up. Didn’t you.3.7kg and it’s pretty well balanced.
32” scale is nice.
My mom was a classically trained pianist.I started on piano, then switched to guitar, then when I got to college, there were a million guitarists. All of them were better than me. So I picked up bass guitar. It was like coming home. My fingers just kinda knew how it all worked in a way that they didn't on any other instrument. Funny how that works. And there are musicians who are far better than me who put my bass playing to shame. But they don't want to play bass, so I'm ok with it.
Hell yeah Ken!
True words. Some may think that bass is easier because there are less strings but it takes a certain talent to comp or play counterpoint to a vocal melody, guitar part, creating the foundation for a piece of music, or play somewhere in the middle with enigmatic fills and accents-
Sweet, thx for sharing. As with you and Donnie, started on piano as well (mom taught piano) later got a guitar, later took the high E and B strings off and the rest happened......My mom was a classically trained pianist.
She played jazz and classical music like nobody’s business till her arthritis got her.
My cousin here in S.C. is also an awesome guitar player.
He gave me back my brothers guitar recently that I gave him, after he was killed.
My cuz deserved that guitar more then I did
But he felt I should have it back.
Sorry for the sidetrack.
So this just popped on YouTube as I was going through Talkbass- had heard much about Wes Montgomery over the years but had never heard him play that I know of - pretty to be able to watch him play too-

Piano lessons from five to twelve. My Mom let my brother quit piano when he started on drums (He’s still not a very good drummer. But he is a really good guitarist). I liked playing piano. But I hated forced practice.Sweet, thx for sharing. Steve Swallow sings duet with Carla Bley's special song to accommodate the bass player-
Hey guys, does anyone remember what Gibson's last retail price for a thunderbird was? and is 2002 a good year for a Gibby T bird? I've got the thunderbird itch again and my local music shop has a 2002 that I played not in prefect condition but pretty good for how old it is, but I [may wrongly] feel that they want way too much money for it. They're asking $2500 which i feel is almost like buying a new one, was there something special about that run of t-birds that might explain what theyre asking for it? Granted, this shop will always drop the price when you actually decide to buy, but i feel since its at 2500 they might only drop to like 2200 or so, which is still a little much for a bass that isn't really that "vintage" yet.
Asks are up these days, especially that vintage with pickups many swear are better than more recent Tbird+ pickups. And they have desirable ebony fretboards. Add to that the reality that Gibson hasn’t done a production run of through neck reverses since around ‘19 and it is a seller’s market. The ‘19’s listed at $2299. Although I remember seeing some as low as $1799.Hey guys, does anyone remember what Gibson's last retail price for a thunderbird was? and is 2002 a good year for a Gibby T bird? Yep. Bass carries like crazy through most standard building materials besides concrete.Thank you- this is about 20 miles north of Pensacola, FL and they have oaks, magnolias, and pine trees among others. We'll be flying over there this weekend to check on the homestead. We left mid-May after dad passed away and I need to get the tractor running again to brush hog the back trails.
Fortunately I have some instruments and computer already there that I can work with -
This is my "satellite" work station in my upstairs bedroom that I put together since in the past couple of years I was spending roughly half my time over there-

I also used this little fella on the left, a Phil Jones amp- interestingly bass notes carried downstairs even with sitting on the ottoman and at moderate volumes. Mom was in the living room and she said that she could hear it. Fortunately she said it sounded good! Now I understand why the neighbors complained at the hightrise in that bass notes go far, even when played at moderate volumes-
So I used headphones after hours - sounded great actually-
