Thunderbird Club

I was ok on rhythm guitar. Not much on lead at all. Better on bass than either of those.
Rhythym-wise I was never a good strummer and could never do that fast "chaw-wicka-wicky-ka-wicket" muted stuff with a wah pedal. So I tend to arpeggiate chords finger style between occasional one strums. Which translates pretty well to my bass playing. I can do leads but mainly short melodic song intros and brief fills and occasional post chorus solos, and which I mean my original material mostly. No shredding here-

But who needs leads when you have killer grooves, riffs and vocals? Here's one rock band from the 70's I was reflecting on today, who as far as I know had a good career without extensive guitar solos-

The Studio would just have the then current version of TB+?

Yes, correct.
When something is identified by an inch figure we would still use it. Otherwise it would be the metric figure. Some shops here display their guitars with metric total and scale length but it doesn’t help when 99% of the guitars are known by imperial.
I can’t talk for Canada, but down here we vote for “ease”.

Yeah, but we wouldn’t. We would use mm. So a 32” would be 812.8mm (maybe rounded up to 813).

The HQ series Holden Kingswood was in production under both regimes. Its wheelbase started at 111” but finished at 2819.4mm - which from memory they just wrote as 2820mm (easier), the wagon went from 114” to 2895.4mm but they wrote it as 2896mm.

I remember reading about sone older cars where wheelbase, total length and width were quoted in feet and inches. Which I couldn’t really visualise easily - had to calculate it to inches in my head first. I do remember my Dad and Uncles referring to “that’s a 15’ car”(or 16’ or whatever) talking about the length.
Yes.

Let's DO this!!!

Classic SD, love their work.
To my ears it’s in the same vein as most of their other songs, a strong Funk Jazz Fusion bass line backing a smooth jazz soft FM rock vocal.
I gave up trying to play a lot of their songs a long time ago, way outta my league on skill level.
I'm learning Peg for Code Delta (my cover band). The bass lines are challenging. Any even tougher challenge will be singing a harmony in the chorus while playing.

Welcome to Canada!
Ha! If I read right, it’s similar here at least those of us in our late 50s or older.

We might say that bloke is 6’2” and 110kgs. Or 5’7” and 80kgs. Or whatever. My kids, switch height around a little but mainly use the metric. So, my daughter would say she is 164cm. I’d say, “nah, you are nearly 5’4”.”
