Thunderbird Club

I can still play some. When I really concentrate. Like Close To You, Windmills of Your Mind, that sort of thing. I haven’t had a piano for years. Probably need to fix that.
We have a piano, but I can play a little of a Journey song, Free Falling from Tom Petty. Only because it's basically a two chord song. Oh, most importantly I can play the old Stroh's beer song (From one beer lover to another Stroh's beer.)

Once upon a time, I could play Scott Joplin rags. Not any more.

I bought that LP when Watt & co played Winters' Tavern in Pacifica a couple years ago. He's played there a number of times since Pacifica resident and Iggy Pop (Fun House) sax-man Steve McKay passed away in October '15. I made a "Baby Bass" tribute for owner CJ that Watt signed on his 1st visit, which was a tribute to Steve. Iggy Pop called during his show and it was broadcast over the PA. Watt (who uses his last name referring to himself) was funny - he pointed out the small details that didn't correspond to his stolen* bass. A bass nerd through and through.

*stollen along with other gear from their truck during an Iggy Pop tour - still at large.

Very cool JIO. I remember a few years ago when you first posted your Watt replica SG bass. Cherry on top that he signed it.

Feeling cocky......let's GO!...

Windmills of Your Mind* is a great movie soundtrack song covered by many great artists. To accommodate Kirstin's voice we (TSC) referenced the Petula Clark version - my 1st memory of the song was the version done by The Vanilla Fudge. Still love their version.

* music by French composer Michel Legrand and English lyrics written by American lyricists Alan and Marilyn Bergman -

This '06 re-master is more psychedelic than the original with a trippy extended intro -

...and I can't leave out Dusty-

As a cyclist I have my cycle computer set to Kilometers and time set to 24hr. (I like how Brits pronounce it Killer-meters) so know the translation to miles pretty well. Sorta same with cm/mm to inches as many components are Italian, French, Swiss etc. Weight conversions I alway have to look up.
Yeah, it depends how accurate you need to be.
I have “approximate” figures stashed away in my head. Like an inch is 2.54 cm, 1 mile is 1.6km (close it’s really 1603 point something metres) - I learnt that from athletics, the old mile race became the 1600 metre race, (and horse racing the same plus the old “2 mile” races became 3200 metre races eg the Melbourne Cup).
Speed, I used to know and can dredge it up if needed - but I haven’t driven a mph (only) speedo car for 40 years.

Pronounciation ? We all said “kill o metres” to start with, but the offical (and now most heard) is K’lom’etres (something like that).

Saw him a few times with Jackson Brown. I must have seen him with others.
